Count the buttons - Derren Brown

Simplicity

after watching this stunt several times the methodology behind it is very simple, im not going to expose the secret on the forum but i will give you a few littles crumbs as to how this chinary is performed firstly (counting the buttons in twos is important till the last few) (9-10 times the result is going to be an even number of buttons) he doesnt just use one method i.e there are 3 different methods to performing the stunt and the reason behind him using the 3 methods at different times is to quash any theories behind the use of electronics ;) the smarties is the 3rd method and can only be performed with a small amount of COLOURED objects there are the clues il leave you guys to work out the rest (P.S i know alot of derrens material if anyone knows the method behind how he gets MATTS dad on the phone to state the numbers on the bank note i am happy to trade privately) x
 
I know nothing about magic, so I don't think I'm exposing anything here but could it be to do with counting the buttons that are LEFT?

one of the methods are (i have three methods in total) there is a way to know how many buttons are left even when there is a cloth placed over the bowl ;)
 
ive laid the bank note one to rest now! i have tried and tested the method and it works although i didnt give my ten pound note away !

Several things come to mind when reading this, the first is i bet that every effect you perform has been performed before (if not the workings most definitly have) secondly, if one knows the methodology behind an effect they can use said methods as a seed to make effects of their own (this is called natural development) samri s.bishop came up with the one ahead principle as early as the 1870's (are you going to slate every mentalist that has ever used this) and finally it doesnt matter if agegap is a 'touring stage magician' or not, when it comes to wanting to better ones interlect or pay interest into the understanding of another showmans work, everyone is welcome to do so. (you should be doing the same if you wish to broaden your capabilitys) pete

i fully comprehend your point, although their are ways to talk to people with respect and answer questions back in a polite fashion (not abrasive). And what relevance does the amount of time i have been a member of this forum have to anything (although im sure when i became a member of this forum i got a welcome message, it did state be respectfull towards people as they do have feelings and can be hurt) but i guess you have been here that long you have gone senile in your old age and forgot that ;)
