Cosmo - Seismic Events

I was going to ask, "What on in Earth causes earthquakes in the centre of Australia?" but I Googled instead. ;)

Interesting.

Indeedy - we're on a pretty stable patch of earth, so it's a little disconcerting when something does decide to move. We expect snakes, spiders, floods, bushfires, cyclones - but not earthquakes.

I don't see it? And what's your claim?

Thanks for the bump...here's another.

And your results are ... vague... unbounded... a stopped clock is correct twice a day...

So rcfieldz, what size of seismic event, on the Richter scale?

Where is the world exactly? Given a fifty mile radius?

I predict there will be a seismic event in New Madrid fault within the next three days.

Give it a shot.

Huh...like a 3.0 or smaller or..BIG? Targeting yet...

the show is only starting...

Our seer seems to have missed today's earthquakes.
My dates have not even arrived yet. And as far as it goes I am not hoping for the worst. I just gave a view from my perspective. I could have placed this thread in the 2012 Predictions thread but I have another there already. Just thought this would make for more responses, hopefully educational, on earthquakes in general but most prefer to ridicule and perceive me as an Earth-Quack...which is fine.

What scientific method are you using to predict earthquakes? Predict the next big one now, one that will make the news. Time and location please.
