Looks like the Blockbot has some serious legal issues including possible libel, running a possibly illegal blacklist (leading to potential legal issues with the Gamejobsbot using such blacklists), and possibly breaking the UK data protection law:
BlockBot Busted? Front Page Rewrite and a Resignation for a Block Bot Team in Disarray
The Blockbot team claiming that the data is in the US probably does not make them immune to the legal issues in the UK (and also probably not in the EU): Aggravating Ignorance
If you have been entered to the blockbot list you can file a complaint, and you can do so even if you do not live in the UK:
In order to give her Kickstarter page a modern edgy urban look, she seems to have somehow acquired and used an image that doesn't belong to her. The artist is, understandably, rather miffed about this.

Well, I'm not sure how much 'social justice' has to do with actual justice in the first place when looking at the behavior of people subscribing to that ideology. Seems they're very quick to judge and label people at first glance, and then use and spread that label and include it in their blacklists however irrational that is.I've noticed that the SJW mindset doesn't really care about justice for theft as long as they're the ones doing the stealing.
Interesting that she's planning on taking pictures of people and possibly shops. Hope she's planning on getting model releases for the people that she's focusing on with her photography, and commercial releases for any shops that she shoots pictures of. Or is requiring photographers to actually ensure that their subjects clearly consent to being photographed too oppressive?
In the US, you are allowed to sell a recognizable photo of someone on the street as a work of art. What you are not allowed to do is to sell it for commercial photography — that is to say, photos being used to sell a product. This would prevent the sale of photos of a recognizable person to (let’s say) a stock photo service, but not as a work of art, or photojournalistic purposes.

It's been a while since we've had some lulz from the warrior contingent in our S/A camp so let's take a wee glimpse into the current antics of one of our more attention hungry members, Ms. Melody Hensley.
Ms. Hensley has decided to branch out, to finally get out of her bed and return to some semblance of active living by starting a blog to detail fashion on the streets of DC. Slight hitch though, she needs a high end camera to take her shots and doesn't have the disposable income to finance her new hobby. What's an activist to do when faced with such dire limitations on her aspirations ? Why, ebeg her fellow warriors for the funds, of course.
Slight problem though.

By all means do that and tell others to do the same. And it's relevant to note that the right to make a complaint is not limited to UK residents/citizens.Oh, I am so going to check this out. I am still listed as blockbot level 2 number 3161. Giving that they have 3500+ at level 1 and 4000+ at level 2, some heads could start exploding if just a small percentage of individuals started filing complaints.

Well, it's not required to get a model release, depending on what you plan to do with the photo.
Hi,
I am considering contributing to this project. However, as a photographer myself, and being aware of the legal issues surrounding such a project; I wanted to inquire as to how you're going to manage the issue of subject consent, and whether you will be obtaining legal model releases. I am concerned about this, as there already appears to have been an issue with unauthorized use of another person's artwork on your Kickstarter page; and I am unwilling to involve myself in a project where clear and explicit consent for subjects and appropriate compensation for artists are not handled ethically and legally.
Thank you for your time,
Hi [deleted],
Once I received noticed that the image that was in use was not creative commons it was quickly changed.
All models will be 18 years are older. I have an adult talent release. I have used a similar one in the past. It is an updated version made by a lawyer and covers every possible liability.
Best regards,
Melody

Good luck with that.![]()
Her kickstarter is quite interesting. The math on her backers does not add up.
She appears to have 17 backers by the pledge level numbers, but the number listed for total is 22. So she has 5 backers not accounted for on the page.
Pledge levels are lowish, the highest one she has listed backers for is $100 or more and that has only 3 backers. She has levels for $500 and $1,000 but no listed backers and yet she has collected $10,770?
There appears to be an audit issue here at the least.

I was wondering about that too.
Oh wait, it's now down to $860 with yet another cover picture.
Math still doesn't work, shows 27 donors and only 19 entries at pledge levels. How much you want to bet the $10,000 is from family member and was taken down so that she can get more bucks from others. Funding level is $1,500. Highly unlikely even for the SJW set that they will donate to something that is fully funded beyond the amount requested.
