Gioia Brocci, police expert investigator.

Oxymoron. This is the same tripe about the shutters being tightly closed which just isn't known no matter what the lying (she and Laura lied about smoking pot initially) Filomena said after Mignini led her down the path.

Can you provide the training and expertise this PLE expert allegedly possessed?

Since it isn't Dr. Brocci that means she has a HS diploma.

My recollection is that the mixer was a photographer they enlisted to do the swabbing.
Don't get distracted, Brocci was one of the footsoldiers who had to take the blame for the sloppy investigation, I'm more interested in the credentials of the "expert" "pat az" :p

Gioia Brocci is where she is today and you are where you are.

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

IIRC, Brocci's "expert" testimony in the Massei trial in respect of the ground under Romanelli's window consisted of nothing more than her undocumented recollection of the state of the ground, coupled with her undocumented recollection of a cursory visual "search" of that area of ground. Photos? Nope. Evidence of proper search of that area of ground? Nope. Detailed contemporaneous notes of the condition of the ground? Nope.

Incompetence. Not fit for purpose.

Brocci was just one of the incompetent bunch of "CSI" officers doing the crime scene forensics. They palpably did not know what they were doing. The handy video they shot (on a camera which incompetently showed the incorrect time.....) showed again and again that they were semi-trained at best, bumbling, ignorant of even the most basic forensic CSI safeguards, and led by someone (Stefanoni) who also had no idea of how to do the job properly.

It's a cast-iron guarantee that any competent, experienced CSI officer would be shocked, embarrassed and amused to watch the video of the antics of the white-suited buffoons in the cottage. Who can forget such zingers as "the infamous bathroom smear-and-blend swabbing technique", "the traipsing all over the entire floor area of the cottage with the same shoe covers (thus ensuring the improper redistribution of critical floor deposits) incompetence", the "pass the parcel of the bra clasp with visibly dirty gloves fiasco", or the it'd-be-hilarious-if-it-wasn't-so-shocking "wrapping the mop in the Christmas wrapping paper found in the cottage abomination".

These morons were way, way out of their depth. However, IMO most of the blame for this utter fiasco of CSI work should rest with the people responsible for training, and with the people responsible for assigning this team to such an important crime scene analysis. I wonder who those people could have been......

So you agree that for a burglar, speed is of essence. No time to hunt around for a boulder and then cower behind a bush for half an hour. Burglars by the nature of their vocation tend to be highly nervous, far more so than the householder of the property they are burgling. They grab the stuff and get the heck out.

The PIP scenario is the burglar hung around a very long time. Undressing and moving the body. Only stealing items belonging to Mez' and nobody else's. Cleaning up the blood in the bathroom and hallway, too.

I don't honestly know why I am answering you but I will. . . .I don't believe Guede was a skilled or rational thief and I believe he had mental issues as well.

I, too, don't know why I bother answering Vixen. By my count Vixen is one apology short, for posting a pic here which disproves the point she was making.

Then in an awkward attempt to backpedal, implied that the pic of the lawyer climbing on the lower bars as after the glass between the bars had been kicked out.

Machiavelli many posts ago tried to make the point that burglars always act rationally and logically. This is similar to the non-point Vixen is making.

Nothing says, "this case is definitively over," than the recycling of old, long-since disproven memes. It's a good thing this forum does not have a rule about, "flood(ing) or otherwise post(ing) in a manner that disrupts the functioning of the Forum", otherwise this would never be allowed.

Need to understand that I expect nothing new to come of this case but just an occasion chat with people whom I spoke to a lot over the intervening discussion.

Amanda and Raff are free and likely Amanda's name will be completely cleared over time. Just kids (anybody under 30 or so :D ) being kids and getting caught by cops whom seem more interested in closing a case than actually finding out what happened.

Or, maybe Amanda's being an American played a role . . .

There is a pattern in many wrongful convictions where closing a case seems to be more important than anything else. Once they get their man, either confirmation bias or being unwilling to admit they made a mistake propels them along.

6. You will not spam, flood or otherwise post in a manner that disrupts the functioning of the Forum, this includes using disruptive formatting in your posts and also includes using the Forum for commercial purposes.

I think your definitions of the highlighted terms, while not necessarily wrong, are different to those used by the moderators here.

Trolling, which is what Vixen is doing, is not against the rules.

Think of her as a less entertaining version of KenM. https://www.reddit.com/r/KenM/

Well, I've already lost this definition war - many times. Why do you think I keep bringing it up! (I'm Vixen-lite!)

The purpose of flooding is an eventual denial or interruption of service. Technically what's happening here is slow-flooding, in that it is not that rapid, targeted access that simply collapses the service.

This one is slow and tends to drive away other posters. Then again at this late date it is hard to tell - maybe people have just got on with life.

As long as my mom keeps throwing the cheeseburgers into the basement here, and fresh coffee now and then, I'm okay. But others have got on with life.

So the criminals in this case were cleverer than the cops. As Mignini would say, they are "very astute".

Are you saying we should admire them?
