Continuation: Discussion of the George Zimmerman case

No, it's really not. Continue to evade, or show me a few posts with the info ?

Yes, he is a complete tool. He was someone willing to claim to be GZ friend, and was willing to speak for him.

Thanks, but no, that doesn't demonstrate he was anything beyond GZ neighbor down the street who also went to some neighborhood watch meetings. I really have not seen any evidence they were anything more than neighborhood acquaintances before this shooting happened.

OK so your claim is that he wouldn't have called Frank because you don't have proof they were BFFs....

Once again I can only assume why you are making this stretch. I will leave it at that.

Interesting, anyone not completely delusional would read that and conclude these two were casual acquaintences as best, not "friends" in anything but the loosest sense of the word. I'd hate to have my brain so addled by ignorance that I'd read that and than turn around and still try to insist they were friends.

BTW, don't you refer to all your "friends" by "Mr"? I know I sure do

Casual acquaintences? Sure, I can agree with that.

I have, on more than a few occasions called even close friends Mr. _______

It's a sign of respect.

So you are saying that Frank is lying when he says he is friends with Z?

I guess everyone is delusional for believing someone who says they are friends with someone else!

Where are you getting that there were no arrests? Or for that matter, descriptions that didn't come from GZ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Zimmerman#Background_to_the_shooting

This has an arrest for a grand total of two people, for one offense.

WRT: descriptions that didn't come from GZ, I don't understand what you mean CR. Frank Taffee said all the suspects were black males. Was wondering how he could have come up with that. I don't recall that being in the reports that I saw.

Do you have a link to the full 9 burglary reports by chance? I can't find mine. IIRC, most did not have a suspect description, but maybe one or two.

Zimmerman: Investigator's methods questioned

George Zimmerman faced a lot of questions from the Sanford Police Department on several occasions about the night Trayvon Martin died.

Now the method one investigator used on Zimmerman is also being questioned.

The method is called assisted memory recall. We reviewed tapes of the interrogation with a former police detective, who has serious doubts about the questioning and the influence it may have had on Zimmerman's answers.

“Go ahead and make it up. If it puts you back at the scene, it’s just, I mean, as far as what, as far as stuff you just recalled during that… it’s an old, old technique, and whatever, but…,” said Detective Christopher Serino with the Sanford Police Department.

That's a get out of jail free card.

Gonna be some sweet sounds

Regarding calling Frank "Mr. Taffe", yeah good point. It's not as if George has a history of using language designed to deceive when he thinks others will hear it.

Oh, wait.

So again, saying its George makes the call ambiguous. I don't know, but Frank says they are friends. And he sure knew details about the case, so I think that issue is unsettled.

Now, I may not agree with this type of questioning, but does it say anywhere in the article about it being a reason for appeal?

They asked a PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR about interrogation techniques. Souldn't they have asked, I dunno, maybe a lawyer, prosecutor, or maybe even a law professor?

Seems kinda.....flaky.

IMO.

It's hard to hear in the audio. Serino talks so fast. If the quote is accurate, it would be a real problem for the state. Like the article states, from that point on, how do you tell which statements are filled in and which statements are not. That's a pretty solid reason to challenge the statement in its entirety. What about the witness statements Serino took. Did he find that method useful with them as well?

The other issue would be if the "investigative technique" amounts to a scientific test. It certainly is framed that way by Serino.

This is still a single-sourced report as far as I can tell, so I'll invoke the 48-hour rule.

You don't read her blog, but you know that she has 'never met' a defendant that she wasn't biased in favor of?

And you don't know anything about what the judge thought, but you're sure he thought something?

My bad, it is hard in this thread to tell who wants to actually have a useful discussion, and who doesn't care to.

My first experiences with Jeralyn were during the JonBenet Ramsay murder case. If you listened to her long enough, John and Patsy Ramsay weren't even in the house that night! Since 1997 I've been exposed to her, her theories, her TV appearances and I'm not impressed. She's never met a defendant who is guilty. She's the karmic opposite of Nancy Grace.

I haven't put in an application for the $1million dollar challenge because I have no mysterious insight into the judge's thoughts. If Judge Lester was pissed because GZ lied by omission and SZ lied by commission, I don't blame him. I'd be more angry because their attempts to defraud the court were so 3 stooges like, maybe JKL thought the Zimmerman's thought he was just that stupid. He was angry enough to revoke GZ's bail. Not a good idea there, GZ.

Uhm.... Judge Lester might have been angry but I sincerely doubt that his anger was the reason that he revoked GZ's bail.

At another point in the hour-long interrogation, Serino asked Zimmerman to play along with something he called “assisted memory recall,” which he described as not hypnosis but a tool to help focus recollection.

He had Zimmerman close his eyes and imagine himself back at the shooting scene and they role-played for a moment. But nothing new came to Zimmerman.

“Yeah, that never works. But you gotta try it,” Serino said.

Ok, tell me what the hell I said that makes you think that?

I know a judge doesn't make rulings because he doesn't like the defendant, he didn't get laid the night before, the coffee sucked that morning, whatever the **** reason. I am not going to go through another day of explaining to a micro degree why I posted what I did.

Judges don't get to be all emotional and play mean girl. JKL revoked GZ's bond because financial information provided to him was false. Is that clear to everyone?

BTW, thanks for the additional pile on.

These are the considerations ALL judges in Florida use

The nature of the crimes,
The amount of evidence
,

Community ties, including:

Local Family Members,
Length of Residence,
Employment History,
Financial Resources, and
Mental Condition

Past and Present Criminal History, including:

Any Criminal Convictions,
Past Failures to Appear, and
Previous Flight from Prosecution.

The Source of Funds to post Bail,
Whether a Danger to the Community or victim exists, etc.

So far the amount of evidence against GZ seems to be small, though.

This despite Lester's claim of strong evidence.

I don't think we have seen much evidence against GZ, except for arguing over GZ's recall of the night.

If there is any strong evidence in Corey's case against GZ, I haven't seen or heard of it yet.

She could still produce it, of course.

I think we can safely say that SPD did a decent initial investigation and they did not find anything strong to refute GZ's claim.

Also, this is the sequence of events at the bond hearing.

Lester never announced, made any pronouncements or said anything during the hearing about the evidence being strong.

At the hearing he read directly from this statute;

Statute 3.131 subsection 5

All information provided by a defendant in connection with any application for or attempt to secure bail, to any court, court personnel, or individual soliciting or recording such information for the purpose of evaluating eligibility for or securing bail for the defendant, under circumstances such that the defendant knew or should have known that the information was to be used in connection with an application for bail, shall be accurate, truthful, and complete, without omissions, to the best knowledge of the defendant. Failure to comply with the provisions of this subdivision may result in the revocation or modification of bail. However, no defendant shall be compelled to provide information regarding his or her criminal record.

It was his written ruling several days later when the strong evidence comes in. Here is the entire ruling, full and in context, there is so much more to it and he spells everything out according to the law;

I will soon be taking a hiatus from the interwebs, as I will be on vacation. I applaud those who are controlling their posts and hope that the urine to signal ratio drops.

I didn't say Lester said anything at all at the bond hearing. I didn't even mention the bond hearing.
