Conservatives still hate Sandra Fluke

She's not running for office, she wasn't famous before this, and she was only chosen as a punching bag because she was defenseless against a media machine like the right has with Fox.

Oh please. She's an activist who wanted to be in the spotlight. There's nothing wrong with that, but don't pretend it wasn't her choice, because it was. And she got plenty of media machine support from the left. Calling her defenseless (against what? speech?) is a farce.

Oh, and I see some people are still clinging to the lie that she was asking "government" to pay for her birth control.

You are correct. She only wanted government to force other people to pay for her birth control.

Not enough liberals like Fluke in Reno:

"About" 10 people? I guess it would have been too hard to count.

Some people wandered up, some people wandered off. Maybe attendance was as low as five at one point, maybe it was as high as fifteen at another point. Regardless, the reporter was too bored to keep track of all the people entering and leaving a grocery store parking lot and possibly pausing long enough to verify that the crazy lady wasn't saying anything really important.

Anyway, the real story is that Sandra Fluke was built up by the liberal party machine when it suited them, and farmed out to a Sak'N'Save in "north Reno" when they had no more use for her.

Really, I have to wonder at the sanity of the people who thought that setting up this event was a productive use of their time and energy.

Probably your best bet if you're a registered Democrat or decided Obama voter is to totally disavow the entire thing, and hope that nobody dredges up your prior insistence that Sandra Fluke ever had anything important to say.

Ah, another half-story that the idiocy of the right is picking up on. Fluke has been "campaigning" all over the country. She's been speaking to small groups. I'll believe Breitbart as a source when they show me the invitations and advertising for this "rally". Both parties have their surrogates out there in all states. Rick Perry was in Fernley, NV this weekend. How'd that go? Did they have to call out the riot police to manage the crowd or was he speaking, just like Fluke, to small knots of people trying to sway their vote.

Obama's going to win Nevada. She's just one of about forty "surrogates" out there and a lot of them are doing grass-roots chatting. This was the invisible ground game that got Obama elected in 2008 and they'd be foolish to ignore it. These one-off conversations are very productive for him. Let's see how many people show up when a Primtime Surrogate arrives on Thursday. Michelle Obama will be in Las Vegas.

Someone bump this thread when ten people show up to hear Michelle.

ETA: Note to Sandra.... Hire Glenn Beck's camera crew. They can make a rally of 1100 look like 20,000.

One event doesn't have a draw and you make a novel out of it. Jesus Christ. Does life really suck that bad that you have to reach so far?

I don't know why. Usually political events at that Sak n' Sav draw huge crowds.

:D

There's a specific thread on this - it should probably be merged into this one because it goes to prove the thread title. Google Sandra Fluke Nevada. Five pages of right wing blogs and miscreants.

Nonsense. She's one of dozens of "surrogates" and she's been making mom-and-pop stops all over the country and is scheduled for more. Obama's ground game consists of a lot of small gatherings. It won him the caucuses and the last election. The big rallies just made his total overwhelming, but the game was won in the trenches.

Anyone got the turnout for Rick Perry doing surrogate work in Fernley, NV on the weekend?

Face it, this is Sandra Fluke and arch conservatives have an irrational hatred for her because she was the cause celebre that embarassed the round mound of sound... Rush Limbaugh. They will do anything to demonize her after the fact to make their darling Rushie correct.

I'd hate to have to break it to you but women not wanting to be a subjugated class of citizen is not a fad. I've been in Reno in October and you are lucky to find more than dozen people anywhere.

She is soooo subjugated with her hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of education at an elite university.

Straw man. She never, ever claimed to be subjugated. This wasn't even about her.

How many people were supposed to show up?

Wow, something about her really seems to give certain conservatives a massive hate on.

She is a woman who disagrees with them. To conservatives, such uppity women deserve a good ole fashion raping.
