Common FDR Arguments Addressed

Isn't this thread a banned individual posting by proxy- which is against the forum rules?

Unless Lyte believes he can honestly address these claims... considering his track record, that seems highly unlikely.

I've tried to read this whole thread, and apparently have totally missed the point. I still don't see anything new that is worth debunking. Did I miss it?

No. Not a d*** thing.

But there's some nice chatting about some sort of game played with crooked sticks on ice - "hocker" or "pockey" or something. :D

Oh, in that case, I had a bet with my friend that the National Spelling Bee would get higher ratings then the NHL finals. Anyone know if I won?

There was a link to a thread on the PFT forum that disputed the missing seconds off the FDR - they say the standards for manufacture require no more than 0.5 seconds of data loss if the unit loses power. I haven't seen that addressed here, but then again I just can't handle wading through every page of every thread that Lyte perpetuates. Can anybody give me a link to a post that responds to it?

The rest of the stuff Lyte links to is basically covered by the missing seconds off the FDR - if you accept the missing time, everything else makes perfect sense.

I am constantly amazed by teh internetz. The availability of references is mind-boggling (at least to this mind).
It's true. The 'net is the best example of a two-edged sword I can think of, permitting the rapid spreading of moronic ideas, while at the same time making readily available the information needed to counter the ideas.

I guess it is ok to hijack threads here. Especially when your brain draws a blank.

Some astute people, whose brain is not drawing a blank, might regard this as a sign that maybe, just maybe, they are not necessarily wanted at this message board.

YMMV

(In layman's terms, that you might be able to understand: Go away, Lyte. Nobody likes you and your fraudulent, poorly reasoned and accusatory threads.)

Boy, what a useless thread.

Hey Lyte, care to answer my question (and Nick's)? What does sergeant Lagasse think of your flyover hypothesis?

You're such a joke, dude. Take your self promotion and fly. Fly, you fool!

I'm going to start my own club and name myself Captain of the Universe. Then y'all will be in for some trouble.

What a freakin' joke. Pretty soon you're going to have to get a job and start earning your minimum wage. You cannot avoid it forever.

I'll take that as "I got nuthin' so I'm just gonna lie."

His FAA certificate is well intact. Use the FAA database, Brainiac.

Just a JREF poster on a saturday night, lookin' for the fight of his life
In the real-time world no one sees him at all, they all say he's crazy

Posting threads to the beat of his heart, changing lie into fact
He has posted into the conspiracy forum, when a poster becomes a post

It can cut you like a knife, if the gift becomes the fire
On a wire between will and what will be

He's a braniac, braniac on the forum
And he's posting like he's never posted before
He's a braniac, braniac on the forum
And he's posting like he's never posted before

On the ice-build iron sanity is a place most never see
It's a hard warm place of conspiracy, touch it, but can't hold it
You work all your life for that moment in time, it could come or pass you by
It's a push of the world, but there's always a chance
If the hunger stays the night

There's a cold connective heat, struggling, stretching for defeat
Never stopping with his head against the wind

He's a braniac, braniac, I sure know
And he's posting like he's never posted before

Ok. I can address it. Manufacturers build FDRs to not lose more then 0.5 seconds of data when they lose power. So from that we conclude that the CSV file represents data from at least 0.5 before impact? That's quite the jump.

First of all, we assume that "losing power" is the same as "crashing into concrete at 500mph". That's a ridiculous assumption.

The argument that this particular regulation applies to this particular situation is beyond bizarre. It's basically just the same deluded people seeing what they want to see in things that aren't even relevant.

This is identical to the time that JDX found a NASA document about altimeter lag. Somehow they pulled out some random sentences about NASA using specialized equipment and specialized tests, removed all of that, and pretending NASA's specialized techniques apply to all FDRs.

It doesn't make any sense, at all.

The rest of the stuff Lyte links to is basically covered by the missing seconds off the FDR - if you accept the missing time, everything else makes perfect sense.

The evidence that more than 0.5 seconds of FDR data is missing is -overwhelming- to the point of absurdity. The claim that the regulation about power-loss somehow not only applies but imposes its will on -reality- is absurd.

It's like claiming that Princess Di didn't die in a car wreck because auto manufacturers design their cars to be survivable in a wreck.
