Collapse of the WTC, need a quick answer

I was wondering--

If steel buildings that have sustained fire damage (and a 500 mph impact) are so safe, even indestructible, then why haven't any truthers volunteered to camp out inside a burning building in order to prove this scientifically? The next time there's a building scheduled for demolition, instead of using explosives, they could set several floors ablaze. I'm sure the truthers wouldn't mind waltzing right into the building as it burns, or hanging out on the top floor, so as to demonstrate how sound it is.

All kidding aside, why don't more of them join their local fire departments so that they can rescue people who are trapped in burning buildings? If burning buildings are so safe and structurally sound, their job should be a breeze.
