CNN pulls camera crew from Palin meeting

Did they pull the cameras and have a hissy fit when Obama held closed door meetings with world leaders in July?

Obama, in London, meets Brown and Blair

No.

Hoping for change and hoping nobody notices we have different rules for filthy republicans.

According to this article, Obama at least took a few questions around his meeting with Brown.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/jul/23/gordonbrown.barackobama

Obama will not even hold a joint press conference with Brown, instead appearing outside the door of Number 10 Downing Street to take a few questions alone.
And he did hold a joint press conference with Sarkozy (I recall watching it) where he was happy to answer any and all questions.

Not really a valid comparison since the issue is Palin's (or her handlers) media access for even a question or two.

To add to what PitPat said, Obama held a press conference today. You can't shut up Joe Biden.

Contrast that with the Republicans. Last McCain press conference was over 40 days ago. Palin has held exactly zero. And she has held only two interviews; the one with Hannity could well be labeled soft porn.

You really don't want to argue the availability case for the Republicans in this election.

A question for those supporting McCain/Palin in this forum... Why won't Palin do interviews or press conferences? Doesn't that bother you?

I think I know why.

Because I think he's hiding something with a WEIRD and really irregular presentation of his medical records? That is just NOT how these things are done.
...

CLEARLY something.

If it is, I doubt it was in the records the reporters reviewed. He would have simply left out the incriminating report and given the reporters all day. No one would know. So I don't think any real conclusions can be drawn. I doubt that he is withholding anything.

Except perhaps evidence of mental decline, which if he is smart has never been formally tested.

This is from the link The Whitewasher Painter foolishly posted in #45.

Dallas: What about what McCain's medical disclosure may not be telling us? His temper reminds me a great deal of my grandparents -- who, disturbed by their declining memory and thought, lashed out at family and friends about the slightest thing.

Dr. David Katz: I think this is an excellent point. No matter our health, our faculties do decline with age. I too have noticed some very subtle indications that Sen. McCain's wit may show some signs of his age.

So I guess rumor and inneundo are fine....provided it is done by the side your support.
Frankly, the double standard and the hypocrisy shown by both sides in this forum is gobsmacking..particulary by people who like to think of themselves as rational thinkers.

There is a difference between releasing medical records and setting 1500 documents on a table for three hours, which means reporters had only 7.5 seconds to examine each page if they wanted to get through them all, less if they had to spend time sharing.

If I rustle a sheaf of papers in your face, have I released those records to you?

Functionally the same here.

eta: oh yes, no copies.

And for the second, republican supporters are complaining that it was "selectively edited."

Jeez, what do you expect? You won't let reporters talk to her except under YOUR controlled conditions, but when you do, you complain that THEY are manipulating things? Sorry, the media won't let them control you that much.

If you want an unedited interview, put her live in front of the reporters and let her talk. A live press conference, so no one can misrepresent anything she says.

You can see which alternative they would prefer.
