Penultimate Amazing
I posted three third party definitions of the word, only a CNN apologist would assert that the word has been calcified in the, what, a decade since the word was invented?
Which post # was that, please?

What law did CNN break?
Are they guilty of committing journalism?
erm... Did you miss the part of the conversation, where it was explained that HAS has a history of posting very offensive racist material?
Ok. And what of all the other offensive and racist material on the internet that is posted by the buttload on the daily? CNN looked for this guy because he originated the idea for a video the President posted that showed fake-CNN getting fake-beat-down (it was a pro wrestling match) by the-real-Donald Trump*. That much is obvious. His other stupidity would never have even raised an eyebrow at CNN, much less sparked "investigative journalism," were it not for the wrestling gif. The racist stuff was the leverage CNN had on him.
But let's be charitable: CNN came across the Reddit post where HAS took credit. They wanted to know who he was and found him. They contacted him for a story whereupon HAS begged the reporter not to out him. He apologizes, promises to take his **** down and never do it again. So far, no real problem.
But then CNN decided to make a public statement about how they reserve the right to out him if he reneges. That's where they screwed the pooch. Now they created the perception of "blackmail" and doxxing. They shot themselces in the foot. They should have taken their little victory against HAS and been done with it.
*Yes, I know how ridiculous that is.
And what of all the other offensive and racist material on the internet that is posted by the buttload on the daily?
There's no point trying to apply logic to this. The right has pretty much abandoned concepts like logic, truth and reality. What matters is sticking it to the libs.
Oh, I see that the Big Dog isn't really interested in learning what "doxxed" means.
The perception of blackmail is wrong, because CNN has every right to publish the name of the person. It's redundant for them to write it out, but that doesn't remove the right.
The perception of doxxing is wrong, because they didn't doxx the person, period.
I think it's because they see that civilisation, by and large, is moving away from their ideals. They can't win this, so they'd rather just burn the whole place down. It's petty and stupid, but what do you expect from people living in the wrong century?
Well, of course not. If he did, he'd become wrong, and we can't have that.
It is of no particular interest unless signal-boosted by the White House or someone else we consider to be publicly accountable.
Really? The president retweets some stupid GIF you made, and now your life is fair game for a CNN investigation?
It's sufficient to know he downloaded it from the internet from a source associated with white nationalism. It is in the public interest to know where the President gets his information.
ESPECIALLY a President so unhinged and detached from reality.

And now, the predictable result:
Over the weekend, the hashtag #CNNDirt popped up in my timeline. I clicked on it and found that a Trump operative named Jack Posobiec had come up with a very simple and cost-free method of digging up dirt on current CNN employees--punch CNN into the search function of Linked In, then sift through the personal Twitter accounts attached to CNN employees' Linked In accounts.

This is not the world I want to live in. When I first saw that they'd embarrassed this guy, I laughed. I thought he was an on-air personality and at least a minor political player. After I realized he was just an editor, I cringed a little. I can't bring myself to endorse it, but neither can I condemn it. This is what they've done to time and time again us and they won't stop. What alternative is there?
Repeated appeals to reason, principle, and human decency have all been made. All have been in vain. The people who work in the media do not use the power that they wield--a power so great that it can drive every day citizens to suicide--with the care and thoughtfulness of adults.
Yaaay.
Well, that's easy: it's coming from Team Trump. What benefit comes from knowing that some dude from Encinal, Texas created the GIF that inspired what Team Trump tweeted? Isn't it enough to know that Team Trump was stupid enough to put this stupidity out there?Does the public have a legitimate interest in knowing where Team Trump agitprop is coming from? Of course, yes.
