Did you do nothing to actually investigate it, or just felt like sniping?

Oh who are we kidding, we know you did nothing

I read the article you linked. It didn't back up your claim.

I did not go hunting for information to back up your claim, no.

Great. Does that address what the article actually said, though ?

No, of course not.

“Very often both the State Department and the intelligence community acquire information on the same matter through separate channels. Thus, there can be two or more separate reports and not all of them based on classified means At this time, any conclusion about the classification of the documents in question would be premature.”

Had you read the CNN link I've posted 2 or 3 times already, you might have seen the error in your post. Had you read the article you linked to and used simple arithmetic (2-1=1), you might have seen the error in your post.

wastes time looking for your post, notices that it does not address North Korea nor contradict Executive Order 13526.

What a time waster....

Lolz, maybe you should show that Hillary was running her own top secret satellites! Maybe off the cowboy server in her basement?

Is there no Clinton campaign spin that is too silly for her supporters to post here? there was no "disagreement" that the stuff was listed as "top Secret" in 2009 and 2011. The whole "disagreement" claim is *********** nonsense made up by the Clinton Campaign after Hillary and her staff unilaterally sent the Top Secret data to her server.

Just another lie from Hillary.

Top Secret when they were sent to Hillary in 2009 and 2011.

WHAT IS AN “EQUITY”?

An “equity” is information that was originated, classified by, or concerns the activities of another government agency or organization and only they can declassify it. Records that contain other agency “equities” must be referred to those agencies for declassification review.

But Nick Merrill says different! Hurr durr!

Say after refusing to say sorry, Hill-bot now says she is sorry for using the private email system.

Guess she met with the Campaign Staff and got that bug patched.

She finally apologized. If she'd done it months earlier, we could still be talking about the Donald!

The only good news for Hillary is this all happened way before the primaries start.

Politicians have enormous egos preventing them from admitting they're wrong, about anything. If she had apologized months ago, this thread would be no different. Some forum members are like politicians.

Probably true, but if she had apologized months ago, she might have realized that she had done some really stupid stuff and needed to do some serious thinking about what to do about it. As it was, not only did she do some pretty stupid stuff, it took her a strangely long time to figure it out.

As it is, it appears she intended to not provide her emails for archiving. So saying she's sorry for having a private email server fails to acknowledge or explain away what seems obvious. She intended to break rules (and perhaps laws) and not provide her emails for archiving. The other alternative is that she is off the charts stupid and always intended the messy sorting of private from public email project when she got around to archiving her emails.

And, of course, apologizing for having a private email server doesn't begin to address the issue of classified information that was sent and received with her email server.

I had dinner last night with some partisan Democrats, and one comment stands out. [rough quote] "Lots of people don't like her, lots of people disagree with her, but before this most people didn't imagine the possibility that she was stupid."

I can't see how at this point she won't be forced to quit the race.

I don't think it's realistic to think this way... she could stay in the race as long as she wants. The only question is whether or not voters still push her to the nomination threshold. Given how Trumps' been like a gigantic piece of political Teflon I don't think anything would surprise me at this point.

I think this is the link that wareyin referred to above:

http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/28/politics/hillary-clinton-email-classified/

I think this is the article that is supposed to prove that the information in some of Clinton's top secret emails had already been broadcast on CNN.

I didn't find that exactly, although the article does have a section discussing the situation if that had been the case. It sounds like public release of classified information does not automatically reclassify information. That seems to imply that this theory of Clinton's defenders that if classified information has been made public Clinton could just ignore its classification is wrong.

The scandal as I see it now
1. Use of private email server
Not a big deal, may not have been illegal, may not have been against the rules.
2. Comingling of private and public emails.
Same as one, although it was a really stupid thing to do because it had the potential to make all of her emails subject to discovery something she figured out very late and attempted to deal with by just erasing her private emails, a strategy with a variety of pitfalls.
3. Failing to archive her emails
This seems like a clear cut violation of the rules and it looks like it was intentional. But probably the fact that she eventually provided her emails for archiving. the fact there may be some hyper technical legal defenses for her actions and the fact that there is a Democratic president will be enough to prevent legal ramifications over this.
4. Improper handling of classified material
If she was routinely communicating material that would have been expected to be classified or was obviously classifiable this will not go well for her. If the communications mostly involved material of low classifications and were not routine she might survive. I'm not sure that it is possible for those of us without special knowledge about what she did to make a good guess on how this is going to shake out.

Wild cards
1. The rumor that her private emails are for sale
2. The guy who set up and ran the server who took the fifth.

You missed this part:
The email, originally sent to Abedin by another State Department employee, Timmy Davis, features information about an attack on the Libyan town of Adjabiya by forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi -- information Davis learned from government sources, but which was also known outside the government.

For instance, a CNN report published one day before the Davis email was sent quotes a Libyan opposition leader as saying, "There were some 50 regime pickup trucks with machine guns and rocket launchers that attempted to enter Ajdabiya."

This matches what Davis wrote to Abedin and others about Gadhafi forces striking the city's western gate with 50 vehicles.

don't forget the lying about it!

And you missed this part:

"Large portions" is not the same as the "entire contents" of the email.

Oh, well, in that case, please strike out the part of my post saying 'entire contents' and replace it with 'large portions'.

I have to ask you to do it, because for some reason I can't find 'entire contents' in my claim. Other than that, spot on with your gotcha!

Then you admit there are some things in the email which were not broadcast on CNN?

This is simply another desperate distraction perpetuated by her minions. Whether the information is in the public realm matters not one iota. It's still Classified Information and subject to all of the rules and protection that entails...

For years Aviation Week and Space Technology has published what amounts to Classified Information on new developments from sources unknown. Much of it is speculation and conjecture. However, when any of it is confirmed by a Government Source, that is a BREACH of Classified Information, PERIOD.

This distraction crap aimed at the ignorance of the general public is really getting old...

Curious W. Does that much spin cause one to be dizzy?

I have no idea. Does it? All you guys have is that Clinton was forwarded email containing classified information. The pitiful attempts to pretend this is going to land Clinton in jail, or even force her to withdraw from the race are the obvious spin, here. So, how dizzy are you?

No it's not, it's fascinating.

It's a good look at how difficult it is to make classification rules that cover every scenario and don't lead to ridiculousness.

If you saw it on this sheet of paper and write an email about, you are revealing classified information. But if you saw the exact same information over here on this other sheet of paper, and write an email about, that's perfectly fine. :eye-poppi
