The great minds at 911blogger.com are showcasing today a call from leftwing loon Cindy Sheehan for a "real" investigation of the events of 9/11/01. Although she's has studied such invaluable resources as Loose Change and one of Griffin's interchangeable books, she regards 9/11 as "the past." She is completely focused on bringing about America's defeat in Iraq and can't allow her energies to be dissipated by full twooferhood. She did allow that the attacks of 9/11 were one those "Pearl Harbors" the evil neocons promised.

Here's the line between politics and conspiracy theories: Super-partisan Democrat attack dog Richard ben-Veniste is every bit as virulently anti-Bush as is Mother Sheehan. He, however, is sane.

Bark far worse than her truther bite. She refused to let "da twoof" be a part of the agenda on her march to DC thsi year gone by. Easier for her to say these things, much harder for her to stand behind them and protest them...we will see.

"Pearl Harbour"

Oh boy - another twoofer who can't comprehend basic English.

I've yet to see this "we need a new Pearl Harbour" quote.

Cindy Sheehan is in no way leader of the anti-war movemant. If she indeed adopts the b.s. of the 9-11 Denial Movemant it will be her undoing, not the anti-war movemant's.

You are not fit to lick Cindy Sheehan's boots.

Now now Perry. She may have some valid points (some) with respect to the war, I have to agree with Ron here, in that she is stepping into truther "Loon" territory with her recent comments.

If you havent seen the video in question, go to SLC Blog, it is linked to over there.

I Have a Hunch I Won't Get an Answer

[=PerryLogan;2395739]You are not fit to lick Cindy Sheehan's boots.

Hey, Perry, I read that someone just won a contest for the best neologism. His entry was "ignoranus," meaning someone who is both ignorant and an... I wonder why replying to you made me think of that word?

By the way, I missed your response the last three or four times I asked. When your hero, The Greatest President Ever, bombed Iraq intensively for four days in 1998, his apologists claimed that the targets were Republican Guard barracks and WMD facilities. As late as 2004, Clinton lapdogs were claiming that they may have "gotten all of it." Tell us, Perry, why killing those Iraqi troops who had no idea they were at war does not constitute a war crime--you know, the sort of thing you'd instantly and reflexively accuse Bush of committing. Tell us how the Clintonistas knew where the WMD were stored.

For bonus points, tell us why I'm not fit to lick the boots of a brainless, America-hating leftist loon. Why would I have risked everything I own betting that you love Mother Sheehan?

(Something tells me our boy will concentrate on the bonus question and completely ignore the other two, but maybe he'll simply ignore all of them.)

I feel politics creeping (oozing) into the CT forums again...tsk tsk tsk.

Important Distinction

TAM, I'm trying to show the murky area where politics dissolves into conspiracy woo. If the Bush administration made bad decisions based on a flawed vision and superficial analysis, that's politics. If Bush fought two wars to line the pockets of Dick Cheney's cromies, that's woo. I'm saying that Perry Logan's mindless, fact-free cheerleading for the Democratic Party, combined with his irrational, mean-spirited slandering of Republicans, is a form of woo. Tell me that rivalries between intelligence-gathering agencies served the nation badly, allowing the jihadists to deliver a powerful blow, and you're expressing a political opinion. Adopt Perry's approach by telling me that an investigation will expose "criminality" and you're talking woo.

yah I know, but I have always lived by the creedo of never talk politics, so I usually avoid such convos. Your points are well taken.

It is your thread, and Cindy is considered, now atleast, a political persona, so I suppose I will just observe rather than post...

Cheers.

TAM, You are always welcome--indeed, encouraged--to post in any thread I start.

Whee... pomeroo posted a link and worded it to yank Perry's chain. Yay! Perry yanked back!

Now pomeroo gets to be all high and mighty about Perry being leftwing and Whiplash gets to pile on.

This wasn't about CT or even politics - this is a grudge match.

EDIT - out of respect for keeping politics in the politics forum, I will not comment further on this here.

Politics oozes in everywhere anymore. I was in a Tampa Bay Buccaneers forum discussing the head coach and it took all of three posts before some started comparing Jon Gruden to George Bush and somehow a football discussion turned into a rant about that evil baby eating, Satan worshiping, pedophile G.W. Bush.

People have irrational emotional attachments to political parties and politicians; combine that with the 24/7 drumbeat of Bush=PureEvil that we get from the media and, what are you gonna do?

Ms. Sheehan BTW is correct; anyone who has ever lost a loved one in a military action should be able to meet with the President of the US at any time and as many times as they like. After all he has nothing better to do and while he is meeting with her he can't be raping grandmothers or poking the eyes out of cats or whatever he does in his spare time.

Jon Gold issues a call to Cindy to embrace the "Truth", for the "Truth" shall give her everything she desires:

Cindy, 9/11 Truth will end this "illegal Iraq occupation" faster than ANYTHING anyone has been able to dream up so far. Not only will it do that, but it will reverse our loss of civil liberties, our loss of the Constitution, and our loss of stature in the eyes of the world.

As George W. Bush himself said, "we went to war because we were attacked, and we are at war today because there are still people out there who want to harm our country and hurt our citizens."

9/11 was the justification for the "illegal Iraq occupation". If you take away that justification, Cindy, then all of this can end.

This highlights a theme I've noticed lately, that the Deniers are trying to sell their case not on the merits, but on the supposed benefits. Tikkun Magazine publishes an article by David Ray Griffin this month, on the same basis:

Because we at Tikkun are aware of extensive arguments that have appeared elsewhere against the perspective presented by the author of this piece, we debated long and hard about whether to present David Ray Griffin's argument here. We decided it was still important, given that if his view is true, the position he articulates would provide adequate grounds for impeachment of the president, grounds far more substantive than those that formed the basis of the impeachment by a Republican dominated Congress of President Bill Clinton.

BTW, Perry, I wish you would join us in condemning all the Troofers and those like Cindy who seem determined to lend them moral support. I have condemned Republicans like Ron Paul who've dipped their toes in the swamp of 9-11 Denial. You can always make it clear that you support her on other matters while opposing her pandering to the kooks on this issue.

Too little too late, the horse bolted way back.

This forum is packed with the politics of 911 already and the OP on here demonstrates exactly what the politics are about.

See what you've done Pomeroo? Now they think we all share your politics.

Have a look in the politics sub-forum Mr W. Rea to see the range of political views on this board.

I spend most of my time over at the real Politics forum now having been subjected to the politics of this forum. The range of views over there is good and the people on the whole are "civil and polite" in the spirit of the way JREF is advertised.

The Conspiracy forum has a rabidly orthodox politics which likes to think of itself as libertarian but beneath the veneer is simply bullying and intolerant.

If you don't like being tarred with the same brush then stop posting here is my suggestion (not my command).
