Chris Angel.. Please explain !

The ONLY way these tricks could be done is with camera tricks and a willing (see rigged) audience.

False. If a magician pulls a rabbit out of a hat and you don't know how it's done, does that mean the ONLYL way it could be done is a camera trick? Or does it just mean you don't know how it's done.

Assuming that something you can't explain is a camera trick is easy even when it's wrong. If you want to know how it's really done, perhaps you should just spend 5-10 years studying magic and it's methods.

Fate already pre-determined

If our fates are already predetermined then who says that someone in our future hasn't already won the million dollar challenge if that is their destiny? We can't say someone hasn't won the challenge if we haven't gotten to the point in time for that person to have won.
Sorry... Messing with ya!:p Thought this place was for "Deep thinking" and quandries.... Thanks for the welcome! Will be talking to your dead relatives soon!!! :crowded: :D

Are our fates predetermined? And if the future is beyond all contact, and it certainly looks like it since no time travellers have come back yet, then lets not worry about it right now. We DO know that this guy isn't going to win the challenge anytime soon with his basic levitation.

Big shout out to The Elementalist for having learned english as a fourth or fifth language. I thought The Edge was an incoherent babbler, but you win hands down.

I have read quite a few posts by The Elementalist by now and have formed the following conclusions:

He desperately wants to post here and be responded to. But unfortunately he doesn't actually have anything interesting to say. So he deliberatly posts drivel instead, knowing that at least he will get some responses asking what on earth he is talking about or trying to say. Yet he never makes any attempts to clarify what he is trying to say.

He knows that if you are obscure enough it is hard for someone to say to you that you are incorrect or have a feeble point, as you may have a very good point but you only express yourself badly.

This is not the case with the Elementalist who is just playing around and offering nothing noteworthy. The spelling errors and random words appear deliberate in order to prevent any real sense ever being conveyed by his posts.
I suspect responding to him will always be an exercise in futility.

Elementalist issue

Has anyone considered the "Elementalist" is someone who has a serious mental disorder? NOT meaning that in a negative way but from a medical standpoint? There are early signs of schitzaphrenia (forgive spelling). If that is his pic, then he is in the typical age group of developing this mental condition which is very serious. Schitzaphrenia typically develops in the early twenties in males.
I have just joined a few days ago so I haven't seen alot of his postings. The one's I have read do indicate a possible mental disorder developing. The incoherent sentances, spelling errors, and insistance for attention. I usually just get all of that in a chat room.:p
Instead of making fun of the guy, let's get a little deeper and see if he needs help first.;) Besides, anyone trying to find deep meaning from a Criss Angel performance needs a little "help".

Its at the tail of your list.

Oh no, that's "cons" not "conse"

my bad.

The theory I'm currently considering is that he is a hoax by DeBunk.

Although if De was going to create a sock, he'd probably disguise his posting style more (eg, lose the ellipsis).

This site ahs become lame...I post real information and you guts act like a bunch of sarcastic new era wisdomless morons...

I saw Cris Angel perform live in a club in NYC, and the whole show was quite wonderful. I almost got to be the 'levitated' girl, but I don't hypnotize easily. Dang. Anyways, I was sitting next to the stage (almost on top of it) and was at just the right angle to see how a number of tricks were done. His ledgerdemain (Elementalist, that means quick and deft hand movements) and his assistants' aid were well timed. He also has great stage presence. OK, I admit to liking any built guy in leather pants...

He has done some interesting endurance tricks, including suspensions, but nothing that hasn't been done before...

I think everyone on the show is involved in the "Magic". The crowd seem to be actors and some of his "wall-walking" stunts look like they are filmed indoors. It's convenient that they show him walking up a wall then the next cut shows him coming down again without showing him turning around. The whole show seems to be major farce.

The show has recently aired on Australian TV. Saw this episode where he levitates for several crowds. I was very impressed.

Does anyone know if this is "non-camera trick" performance? I won't believe that everyone in the crowd are stooges...and this isn't like David Blaine, where they cutoff parts and re-edit it. You get to see the whole camera pan the levitation left to right....with both feet visibly off the ground.

The whole thing is a staged setup - camera, crew and crowd.
Impressive magic show yes, but really hilarious that some folk would believe it to be real. They probably watch too much tv and are unsure about what constitues reality.

On a separate note: Yes, I agree that Elementalist is quite incoherant.
He can't even answer the simple questions posed to him.

And where did you get your idea that the whole thing is a setup?

I've practiced magic for many years, and have seen many illusions. Angel's levitation is by far the most amazing. Public, outdoors, no stages, no assistants. Very convincing. Just because it looks impossible, doesn't mean it was done purely on camera tricks or stooges. I just want to know if this was done w/o using any dodgy tricks, provided there are sources for this.

Anyone else have better info?

SF108,

This is exactly what I was asking.

Personally a cannot see how his tricks could be done with out camera tricks .. but them I am not a magician.

When you have a full 360 camera pan over and underneath the levitator and nothing above for wires etc.. it MUST be camera tricks !

Not sure what you mean by the crowd being a staged setup- obviously they have to attract a crowd. If you mean the whole crowd is in on the trick then you're wrong. If you mean something else then I don't know what you mean.
