Maybe I have this wrong.

Chris Angel “seems” to be inferring that his levitation is genuine.

The “incidental” crowd oohing and ahhing, the outdoor nature of his tricks etc.. but at no stage did they say this was a trick... in fact unlesss you knew better you would think it was real ! Now this is fine for me I KNOW it is impossible but I worry .. my kids watch this and say.. see Dad people really can levitate.. how can I show them this is just fake camera work etc ?

He is so incredible! I love his art of life...He walked down a wall!!! This is real stuff!!! It actually isn't camera work...But how would you try to pull that out of him? tell him it is a mix between what is really possible and modern technology...even though it is not.

I don't mean to destroy your skeptic ideas.

hahahaha

So young? Well if you think it is for his greater good, than do as you must. You must think it is real as well or maybe just sensing what he thinks strongly or you could tell him. Try to remeber upon who you were before you developed your parental bond with current morality intact. And explain that this kind of stuff takes exstensive training...it may seem easy, but nothing that a young child should be intrested in, Me and Mom haven't developed the backround for you to be a stable or healthy magican. David Blain is actually the more child freindly magican. Criss is for the teens and higher.

Only possible by use of evidence. And even if you have some, it only applies to one particular topic. Skepticism is a method that remains valid, even if something weird is discovered.

what are you talking about...I was implying I didn't won't to influence the situation for the worse for him...there were know other people in this thread. It was directed at Aussie.

Elementalist !

So he can defy physics and do impossible things.. yet he is relegated to a ½ hour tv show ?

The ONLY way these tricks could be done is with camera tricks and a willing (see rigged) audience.

I don't mean to destroy your skeptic ideas.

hahahaha

I doubt you could do that.. and if this next bit is your attempt then I would not doubt it I can guarantee it !

Well my kids have grown up expecting evidence for AMAZING feats or they assume them a trick. They assume this a trick but it is presented like it is real.

You must think it is real as well or maybe just sensing what he thinks strongly or you could tell him.

I have TOLD them.. but my kids are sceptics .. they expect evidence…. Hence the thread !

??? I had a parental bond from the moment I left the womb (even before I guess).. If you can remember beyond then.. well done.

Can you reread that and then tell me if it actually made any sense to you either ?

MY GOD!!

I meant, were you are the dominant one in the bond...Skeptics act like they have no conses.

That's your life buddy^^^

Forgive me but you just are not making any sense !

Dominant in the bond ??? Non conses ?? Conscience?

how does one do these things?

Or even understand what you mean ?

That's your life buddy^^^

That sounds like you gave me some advice… but I totally missed anything coherent ?

Criss Angel has done about 600 shows in new york all thorugh broad way...he has sponosred so much.

What does that mean.. he can really levitate ? Because he sponsors things ?

BTW..My spelling is crap.. but I HAVE spellchecker.. try it !

=)

you said he has a half hour show...he has sponsored alot of things and done 600 shows.

You are the dominator in the bond. see: 45/15...you being 45...that the higher number, like you, you are older buddy. You are the Dominant one in the bond, you are the parent, so it's a parental bond. Seeing I was reffering to you in that statement

Wow I think my pet chatterbot writes more coherently. I've gotten good at seeing the difference between fiction and reality. It comes from guessing the legitimate relationships between the wrasslers I watch.

Damn, I'm obsessed. But I see no reason not to post this, since this guy is begging for threadjacks.

I noticed this too because I work with a person who believes this trick is real. I explained its entertainment and even demonstrated the trick and explained the camera angle. As my words began to carry weight another co-worker joined the conversation and mentioned he saw someone "upclose" in a "temple" (unsure what type) do it for "real." I sighed, realized I couldn't win this debate, and moved the conversation elsewhere.

Turning a camera, painting a floor like a wall, and acting like you're walking down a wall are more probable than someone defying physics.
Yeah! Of course it's more probable. This is old news. Didn't you see that old movie with that guy dancing on the walls and ceiling?

Why would you need to eat humble pie if someone won the challenge? I would be very excited. It would be magnificent if human possessed any such powers.

But it doesn't matter what I want to believe. Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

The "I fear I may never get to eat it" part is an attempt to indicate that I want to be proven wrong: So far, it seems I'm probably right in my tenative hypothesis that there aren't any paranormal powers out there. But if I'm wrong, and someone passes the JREF challenge, I'll be glad to admit I was wrong: I get to eat a pie, and the possibility of training to become a Jedi or whatever if I knock down the winner's door.

Winner in Time machine?

How do we know there isn't a winner already but they are in the future? Will they come back in a time machine to show off their winnings?;) If I won, I wouldn't tell anyone because people would come up to my door all the time and say "prove it".:crowded: How annoying would that be? A million or no million, I am not in the mood to be the only person in the world that really does have to prove something everyday and still NOT be believed.
Any way this thread is about Criss Angel "Superfreak" I mean "MindFreak". (Sorry). Think the guy watched "Twin Peaks" one too many times... His levitation could possibly extend from his "ego" trip he took last fall.:p Don't get me wrong... I do like Criss Angel but his schlick gets a little over the edge to corny at times.
Please don't read pass this point if you really don't want to know how his levitation tricks are done. There are no camera tricks for most of them. It is more along the lines of use of specially designed contraptions. In reality, it is the new "space age" materials available that make his "tricks" better than in the past. Thank you NASA!
The easiest one to explain is the trick where he levitates up to the chair. That is simply having "fake" front legs. Notice his back is always turned away from the audiance. He simply just "steps up" onto the chair. Watch his motions and you will see they match stepping onto something than floating. Wearing his long leather coat and black pants hides this trick.
The lady levitating is another trick I figured out. This is where the special contraption come in. Notice the lady's he ALWAYS chooses have a long shirt on over their clothes. It drapes down when they "levitate". Even his own leather jacket falls down to the ground when he does it. That is to hide the metal contraption that they are laying on. Kind of the bed of nails meets broomstick levitation. (broomstick levitation used a forklift behind a curtain). The contrapition is thin enough not to be caught on tape very well. However, if you look close enough you may see signs of it between the shoulder blades. That is a good place for balance.
Criss Angel is pretty good at the deception level. I wouldn't play poker with the guy. I will give him props for being good at slight of hands. That takes alot of practice. Hope I didn't ruin everyone theories on how the levitation is done. I really enjoyed some of them when they made sense!
