Merged Chick Tracts

Again, may I ask you to please include the word "Chick" when titling threads about Chick tracts.
 
Why do chick tract style preachers think that telling stories of God's horrible vengeance will make us love him?

Is this some sort of Stockholm Syndrome?

There are people who want to read threads about Chick tracts who will never find your threads because they are so poorly labeled. There is nothihg wrong with using a poetic title and a descriptive title - there is usually room for both.

In other news, kids talking to each other about God and the Bible in school at any time where they're generally allowed to socialize and talk to each other is not only legal in the US, it's actually protected speech.
 
Why, you mean to say that people with political agendas will fabricate, misrepresent, and horribly distort facts to create a scenario in which they are a victim of an insidious attack, therby garnering sympathy and support for their cause???? What is this phenomenon, I have never heard or seen anything about it ever, please tell me more

I think Chick is one of those people who enjoys perceiving himself as living persecuted in a horrible dystopia. There are plenty of times and places where Christians were indeed persecuted...but 21st century America isn't one of them. I think Chick would have been much happier being an early Christian in first century Rome.

And there are people with no interest in Chick tracts who wander into the thread because the title makes it look like something far more interesting than the ramblings of an irrelevant lunatic.

No. Chick doesn't want to be actually persecuted; he merely wants to be perceived as such. He would run from Christianity as fast as he could if he were truly persecuted.

I note that Chick didn't include the ban against seething a kid in its mother's milk in his list of commandments. I wonder why.

Yeah. WE know that. It's the fundies who think all talk of their religion, specifically, has somehow been "banned" from school.

They care so much about their "religious freedom," yet they can't be bothered to find out what the law actually says. Because knowing what it actually says would harm their pet persecution complex. :rolleyes:
