Merged Chick Tracts

Does this describe how fundamentalist Christians see the world?

That would simply border on schizophrenia.

Jeez I was thinking hey maybe there will be naked chicks(*) , oh boy I am disappointed.

Anyway chicks track never made enough sense for me to follow them to their stupid conclusion.

(*) slang for women here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did God cause a stock market crash in the story? Did this god have to destroy thousands, if not millions, of people's financial futures in order to accomplish his goal (which he failed at in the end anyways)?

what is the god? if mother nature was god (perhaps), then cycles are evidenced.

ever hear of 'what goes up, must come down, the spinning wheel, got to go around"?

if the nasties are up, then a reversal should come around some day.

i have wondered, that if a global catastrophy occurred, how many within the cities are able to survive without grocery stores feeding the masses?

OOOKay......?? After that first response to your post I thought I would actually answer the question you asked.

You do not need to be corrected. That is what the god in the story did.
The whole thing is pretty dumb if you ask me.

I don't mind insane religious twaddle, even the hatefilled kind, half so much as I detest sloppy narrative. What did his work have to do with a political career? Why have the total stranger old lady and a referenced-but-unseen Aunt Louise? Wouldn't it have been tighter to merge that character? And what was this guy supposed to do that would be so great for Satan anyway--but not great enough for Satan to actually bother helping out? And although the title and the conclusion were about "loving money", you don't actually see him spending it on luxuries or even hoarding it--he's only seems to be wanting it as a means to an end for his vague "political career", and later because he doesn't like sleeping on the floor in a shack (imagine that).

Chick, you've lost it. I'm going to actually have to start writing the things for you. Good God, if I were an insane fundie cartoonist full of hate and wishing to spew venom via crude drawings I'd be so much better at it!

Not only that, but little old ladies pray to dogs, and evangelists in baseball caps end up in Hell anyway. Weird.

What must it be like for Chick-brand religionists?

To live in constant fear of hell, and the demons trying to corrupt you?

Do they live terrified little lives, believing that evil forces are after them?
Or do they live smug, self-satisfied little lives, believing they are special and better than the unsaved masses?

 What? I can hardly make sense of what you've posted here.

No: probably the majority of Christian fundies in the US and some other countries think money goes to those who are seen as better in God's eyes.

The good news: Prosperity theologyWP pastors think Jack Chick is nuttier than they are.

The bad news: Prosperity theologyWP pastors think Jack Chick is nuttier than they are.

Nah. These beliefs are part of his culture.

We have to be mindful that he's aware that these are fictional characters, invented for the purpose of allegory.

But there are other strips where he passes on stuff he thinks is 100% real by the looks of it.

Whenever I go to the Chick tract archives, I prepare for the mental assault with a couple of shots of scotch.

I don't mean their attitude to money.
I mean the idea that behaviour is influenced by little cartoon demons and cliché angels.

Does this actually work? I mean does this guy get converts with this stuff? I would think this sort of thing might have an impact on a particularly impressionable nine-year-old but not much past that.

"The whole world is headed for hell."

Statements like that make it clear I would never want to worship a Gawd who creates life just to make most beings suffer torture. Thankfully he doesn't exist.
