One of the film clips shows a man

starting a fire with his chi. I can't post a link yet as I'm new, but put all the letters together and click on film clips, if you can catch 'em. www . as d e ev . or g

I saw a video of a small, green elf using a green, glowing sword to duel a gnarly, old man with a red glowing sword. It must be real, right?!:eye-poppi

Not that it disproves his powers, but this google cache page is interesting.
SAMAREH, Babak Unlicensed

C. Barbieri 9,4 A
Madrid, Spain, 28004
D.O.B. 5/11/66
CONSENT ORDER filed March 30, 2003. This matter was opened to the Board upon information that Mr. Samareh diagnosed a patient and represented himself as a Naturopathic physician. Mr. Samareh ,who lives in Spain, denied that he diagnosed or treated any medical conditions, but admitted to representing himself as a Naturopathic .physician in New Jersey. He had business cards which listed him as a Naturopathic physician, attempted to open a web site, and has given lectures on preventative medicine. The parties, desiring to resolve this matter without the need for further proceedings, and the Board finding that the within Order is adequately protective of the public interest, ordered Mr. Samareh agreed to cease and desist from engaging in or holding himself out as engaging in the practice of medicine and surgery and from using the title or designation, doctor, physician or any other language or title denoting licensure, unless and until he is duly licensed by the Board of Medical Examiners to do so. EFFECTIVE DATE: March 25, 2003.

We've discussed this before, Bonnie. Everything in that video can be done with hidden devices. In other words, the guy is an out and out liar and fraud. I'll see if I can find the thread.

Has anyone seen those particular film clips anywhere else, in their entirety? The website provides no credits. I tried to zoom in on the breast patch on the yellow polo shirts but couldn't make anything out. I've been searching the threads here and haven't found the skeptic's explanation yet. Should I be searching under something else besides projecting chi, energy, force fields? Thanks in advance for the thread, Christine, if you are able to find it.

I didn't find it, but let me try some more. The guys in the yellow shirts are obviously just paid to fall over for the tourists, but I do think I saw yellow shirts somewhere before.

Thank you Christine!

I would like to figure out what the organization is that is providing the shirts. I'm betting it is marketed as a "spiritual" retreat for people with a lot of money to spare. I'm just curious where this is and what they charge and what consumers get.

The paper burning clip was clearly a set-up. But in one of the clips with the force field guy, it is clear the person flailing and trying to break through the other guy's force field actually does touch the protected guy's back. Those clips had me chuckling.

There are lots of alternative healers out there like this one. This particular website overall is great fun to dissect for credibility. It stresses the ability to heal from within, but if you click on one of the little arrows, up pops offers for vitamins, some of which are sold at any supermarket.

There are no educational credentials except Bastyr (ND 97) and he practiced for 4 yrs.. There is nothing that can be fact-checked except that. Website owner's ID is protected (so the attorney general doesn't find him?). Photos taken with Buddhist monks and others doesn't really give credibility - he could have been a tourist and this is his photo album. It says he spent many years travelling, yet was in the states being investigated by the attorney general and charged in 3/03 (thanks for pointing this out). This website went up in 5/06, so that would be less thatn 3 years of travel.

OMG! Wudang, I thought you were making it up! I found it. No wonder Dr. BS doesn't give any credits. If unfamiliar with what he's peddling, it is hard to find. Comedy troupe is right!

No, you're assuming I wanted to perceive something. That assumption is unwarranted and incorrect.

Psychosomatic responses like this do not depend on the subject *wanting* something to be true: they depend on the response from the suggestion, that's all.

Voudou's influence on premature death is an example: the victims don't *want* to die earlier, but once the thought has been planted, there's a bit of self-fulfilling prophecy.

eg: "Don't think of an elephant."

I cam across your comments regarding the clips on my Web site .
The video clips you saw can be viewed in full for authentication .
The clip with the Indonesian Dr. projecting Chi trough his body can be found on a DVD titled" Ring of Fire" you can find it at Mystic Fire video it was produced by a British film crew .

The other clips are from a Documentary called "Limits of Belief" by Third eye productions .
I unlike most go and investigate things for my self for I am a true skeptic and am not satisfied with just seeing something on film of reading about it . I have to examine it for my self . So after seeing the clips I went there and spent a lot of time with them to understand what it is they do . I do wish others were as committed to finding the truth instead of relying on second hand Knowledge.
With regards to the NJ medical board a simple look at the laws of the state of NJ will show that they DO NOT ALLOW licensing for ND . So NO Naturopath can get a license there period .
Feel free to contact me at the address on the web site if you need further proof of what you saw and I can arrange a trip to Bali or the Himalayas for you of course you pay your own expenses but the meeting will be free of charge as these people are not so interested in money like us in the west. But I am sure with the Million dollars that you will collect you will have no problem paying for it.
I leave you with these words;

"Do not believe anything because it is said by an authority or it is said to come from Angles or from God's or an inspired source.
Believe it only when you have experienced it in your own heart and mind and body and found it to be true "

He said everything twice! It's true!

And a few more times the information becomes doctrine, a few more dogma, a few more we get universal truth. And we know what fun we can have with those “Universal Truths”…

Wishful thinking & the power of suggestion can be very strong. I'm embarrassed to admit i have been duped several times in the past. The problem is that when one goes to a "healer" or "psychic," etc. that person is vulnerable. After all: if you were in perfect physical, "spiritual," or mental health, you would not even be there in the first place. Correct?

So, your guard is already down by that fact alone.

When you go to someone with hopes of relief, peace, and/or an experience of some kind, you are consciously or subconsciously wanting to experience a positive result. (Normal people do not go to these people with the hope to receive harm or zero results.)

Illness and/or other vulnerabilities + woo = Excellent cash cow.

If i did not have such a strong conscience and aversion to preying on the weak, i would cash in on this enterprise myself. :)

Alas! B-Sam's forum no longer exists

Interesting timing. I guess I'll need to pack my bags to see for myself how those Yellow Bambooers do wht they do. I, too, like to check things out for myself, as I'm sure most other posters here do as well.

BTW - NJ allows a limited scope of practice for naturopaths. They just can't put themselves out as physicians. The handful of naturopaths in NJ and those in other states with out licensing seem to be doing just fine.

Weird, defensive and critical-of-seekers reply by one who's livelihood is providing wisdom to those seeking knowlege.
