Cheney on Dean: "He's never won anything"

Heh. What's this board's policy on dirty jokes if they don't actually contain any dirty words? I've got a good one starring Cheney and Bush.
You mean Dick and George?

Didn't veep Cheney also deny ever meeting John Edwards in the debates? John was clearly taken aback from the comment and IIRC he didn't respond to the comment, err lie.

I guess bald-face lying is a good way to put your opponents off guard.

Why is it that every time Cheney says something that's incorrect it becomes a "bald-face lie", but the same doesn't apply to (selected) others (like Kerry)?

For example, how could Kerry forget that he wasn't in Cambodia Christmas of 1967? Was that a mistake or a bald-faced lie?

"Never won anything"? This isn't Cheney's first such gaffe. Dumb, real dumb.
It's also a good sign for Deaniacs. Cheney genuinely feels threatened by Dean and remarks like these definitely show it.

You really think Cheney believes that? He's up for retirement in a few years and I doubt he cares less about Howard Dean.

I mean honestly, he was just trash talking the guy and I think we're all being a little over-analytic about it.

Evil is a term describing that which is regarded as morally bad, intrinsically corrupt, wantonly destructive, inhumane, selfish, or wicked.

- morally bad: let's just use the lying and swearing habits of Cheney as examples

- instrinsically corrupt: Hali (cough) burton

- wantonly destructive: have you seen Iraq lately?

- inhumane: have you been to Gitmo lately?

- selfish: let's do away with the filibuster, buster!

- wicked: How Rove schemed to eat their own with the McCain treatment during the GOP leadership run seems wicked to me

I do believe Cheney and Rove could use a good dose of sincere humanity ....

We can argue over whether Cheney is evil or not, but I don't think we can debate whether or not he's a petty and childish individual. This is right in line with his telling Sen. Patrick Leahy to "Go f*** yourself." He's a fairly cruel and insulting person.

Frankly, he might be a good leader in some respects, (I said, "some," and that doesn't mean he's a good man), but I wouldn't want to spend much time with him. And certainly no more than I absolutely had to.

I don't buy a single one of your examples. Thanks though.

I suppose that you deserve more than gainsaying.

Swearing? I guess you didn't know that people swear. I don't know if it is morally bad but by this logic most if not all American presidents are evil. Lying? Lying is wrong. I can't justify it. I can try to understand it. Again, by this logic we have not had any presidents that passed your test for not being evil.

instrinsically corrupt: Hali (cough) burton
Perhaps your best example. I think it is indicative of something seriously wrong it doesn't prove intrinsic corruption and I'm not certain you know the definition of intrinsic.

wantonly destructive: have you seen Iraq lately?
Pure and utter horse sh!t. No one in the Bush administration wants what is happening now or is at all happy about the death or indifferent to the suffering.

inhumane: have you been to Gitmo lately?
Could you make a case? How is Gitmo inhumane and is it intentional on the part of the administration that it is inhumane?

- selfish: let's do away with the filibuster, buster!
Selfish? Your example is pathetic. Politicians are political, duh. The Dems were adept at being "selfish" when they were in power.

- wicked: How Rove schemed to eat their own with the McCain treatment during the GOP leadership run seems wicked to me
Politics, McCain seems to have gotten over it.

Your examples are poor and render the word "evil" trite.
