Charlie Sheen faces protest from 9/11 conspiracy theorists for "neglecting the cause"

He's recently taken on the issue of bipolar disorder amongst many other topics in his live stand-up shows.

But there's one cause that Charlie Sheen has been apparently shy of talking about recently - his conspiracy theories surrounding the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York.

Sheen has been vocal in the past about the attacks, asserting that the World Trade Centre, in his view, was blown up in a 'controlled demolition'.

Now conspiracy group The 9/11 Truth Movement are threatening to protest at his live shows, accusing him of neglecting to talk about the matter.

Mark Dice, a prominent member of the organisation, told TMZ that the former Two And A Half Men star has abandoned them after once being a keen supporter.

He said that Sheen should be using the limelight he is currently enjoying to promote the group.

'[He should be] asking hard questions about what happened on 9/11 and the resulting wars ... not bragging about smoking crack and sleeping with hookers,' Mr Dice told the website.

He added that he had reached out to Sheen, but has had no response, adding that if the 45-year-old actor doesn't address the issue soon he will protest at Sheen's live shows along with fellow group members.

They really are clueless. Charlie's' tour is about Charlie. If these "truthers" had stepped up and bought the tickets at the opening price ($150/$300) instead of having to discount them to sell out...............................well.

Mark Dice? Now there's a name we haven't heard in a long time. Trying to find his way back into the limelight on Sheen's coattails, is he?

I would have thought they would be concerned about having him as a spokesperson at the moment, in terms of his personal problems.

They should still have plenty of common ground.

Charlie Sheen: "Winning."

Truth Movement: "Winning."

Talk about the vaccines too Charlie! The moral courage of Mansheen is intimidating, eh? He had to pay for his kid's vaccines, so did he take that totalitarian garbage laying down? Hell no! He paid for the vaccines in nickels. This is the kind of role model we need for society!

I hope to God that Charlie starts talking about 9/11 some more, it will be immense fun, I'm a little pissed he's not talking about it too. Charlie should do a debate with someone over it, that would be entertainment.

Yeah, I don't understand this at all. Mark Dice actually thinks that a man that plenty of people thinks has gone completely off the rails should be promoting 9/11 Truth™? Has he just completely given up on any pretense of respectability and sanity?

There is an organised group called "The 9/11 Truth Movement"??

It would be like handing a drowning man an anchor.

Question: Which one of these two is nuttier than the other?
Answer: The other one.

They should still have plenty of common ground.

Charlie Sheen: "Winning." Whining

Truth Movement: "Winning." Whining

You spelled whining wrong. I've taken the liberty of fixing your post for you.

Cheers!

LMAO dear Charlie Sheen, we need you and your stellar credibility to promote our cause! Please, interspersed between anecdotes about banging 7-gram rocks of cocaine and banging 7-Thousand-Dollar hookers, explain how the NWO did 9/11.

Almost exactly what I was thinking. Should he start talking about his theories of engineering at ground zero before or after the anecdotes about substance abuse.

People are already walking out on the show. Perhaps the protestors would be doing patrons a favor by blocking the entrance.

Joking aside, this is a non-story from a non-source. The real story is that neglected attention whore Mark Dice (not even his real name), identifing himself as "a prominent member of The 9/11 Truth Movement," has contacted several celebrity gossip media outlets in a pathetic attempt to ride the coattails of Charlie Sheen's recent notoriety by threatening to protest outside the venues of Sheen's upcoming shows.

If you visit Dice's most recent self-promoting You Tube video, you will see him warning us of the "dangers" of purchasing a "Visa gift card" which requires you to give "personal information" to activate it.

The trouble, however, as several commentators on the video point out, is that the card Dice purchased and is waving around in the video is not a Visa gift card but a Wal-Mart prepaid reloadable money card issued by Visa which is a debit card, not a gift card. As with a regular bank issued debit card, the information you must give is to protect the cardholder in case of unauthorized use of the card. A real gift card, intended to be given to someone else, doesn't require this information.

So Dice doesn't even know the difference between a gift card and a debit card. Also check out the shameless self-promotion in the video description, a small selection of which is quoted below.

Mark Dice is a media analyst, social critic, political activist, and author who, in an entertaining and educational way, gets people to question our celebrity obsessed culture, and the role the mainstream media plays in shaping our lives.

Mark frequently stirs up controversy from his commentaries, protests, and boycotts, and has repeatedly been featured in major media outlets around the world.

Several of Mark's YouTube videos have went viral, earning him a mention on ABC's The View, Fox News' O'Reilly Factor, TMZ.com, and other mainstream media outlets. Mark has also been featured in (or attacked in) the New York Post's Page Six, Rolling Stone Magazine, USA Today, The New York Daily News, and in major papers in Pakistan and Iran.

Edit:

Check out some of the comments about this "story" on TMZ. :D

Mark Dice - another fame whore
looking for his 15 minutes of fame.

NOT winning!

Charlie was on crack when he believed these ideas, what is this guy's excuse.
