Charleston church shooting described as hate crime

Why did you go to the place where a 21 year old man is too young and innocent to understand the extremist radical ideology he is embracing not long before using extreme violence to apparently advance that radical agenda? Maybe I've mistaken you for someone else but I'm pretty sure you had some strong opinions about the personal responsibility of 18 year old Mike Brown, did you not?

I didn't say it was a fact.
I didn't even say all of that.

Jeez.

Bigfoot now, that's a fact.

Anyway, here he is with a CSA plate on his car.

A federal law enforcement official told the Los Angeles Times that suspect may have used disguises.

The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said it appeared from the surveillance images that the assailant may have worn a wig and a fake nose, and may even have dyed part of his skin.
I think that this is an error caused by illusions from low resolution security cameras. Better images don't show anything like a wig (we now know he has an unusual cut) or a fake nose or skin dye.

Eyewitnesses would have mentioned the odd disguises and none of them did.

I don’t think you understand how to be a skeptic. First you have to dismiss information from people who actually have the information, and then you fill in the blanks with your own baseless speculation.

And if you’re really good at being a skeptic, you get to say that statements by the police are unreliable in the wake of so many threads in which we were told statements by the police are to be trusted.

Oh, I think I'm starting to get it... But for that to work, would you have to be being sceptical of the the liberal PC orthodoxy first? Like, it wouldn't be sceptical if you were arguing like that witness testimony of a black kid thug with their hands up crying out "don't shoot" contradicted police statements, right?

It is the internet. There is no "tone" to help.
In a forum where people sometimes hold up racist stuff, woo, or denialism, you gotta work a little bit harder to make sure people detect the sarcasm.

Maybe more of this?

I think the better images still show something with the nose?

What do you think about the "stain" or whatever on the right side of the shirt?

Cowles said he recognized Roof in a photo released by police, and described him as quiet and soft-spoken. Roof's father gave him a .45-caliber pistol for his birthday this year, Cowles said.

"Nobody in my family had seen anything like this coming," Cowles said. "I said, if it is him, and when they catch him, he's got to pay for this."

He said he had told his sister, Roof's mother, several years ago that Roof was too introverted.

"I said he was like 19 years old, he still didn't have a job, a driver's license or anything like that and he just stayed in his room a lot of the time," Cowles said.

Skeptic = Anyone arguing from a viewpoint with which The Central Scrutinizer agrees.

Denier = Everyone else.

False.

Skeptic = Anyone arguing from an evidence-based viewpoint.

Denier = Everyone else.

I'll add a third.

Warrior = Anyone who rage blogs using only preliminary evidence that fits their world view while ignoring later, contrary evidence.

I see a normal nose in the better images. The stain on the shirt may be shadow.

He just seems awful young to know much about what those patches represent, or to be so involved with the subject as to have the patches put on his jacket. On his own, anyway.

Combined with the plates and everything else that's coming out I'm guessing he knew exactly what they represent. We'll find out he has some kind of white supremacist connection.
