Ed CFIW Testing Telepath 20/12/08

I only just found out about this thread.

The demonstration was to be conducted by the Independent Investigations Group which meets at CFI-Los Angeles (fka CFI-West). The IIG has a $50,000 Paranormal Challenge similar to the JREF Paranormal Challenge. In fact, the IIG does a lot of the West Coast preliminary testing for the JREF MDC. Our process is done slightly differently than the JREF Challenge. Instead of the Preliminary Test we have a Preliminary Demonstration. The Rodriguez group was scheduled to do the Preliminary Demonstration. If they were successful in their demonstration then we would have moved forward with preparing for an official test for the $50,000.

We scheduled the demonstration to happen towards the end of our regular monthly meeting. The IIG meets on the third Saturday of every month at CFI-LA at 11AM. The Rodriguez group did not show up and they did not return our phone calls or emails and their case is now considered closed, but we were not just "sitting around eating doughnuts." We just continued with our regular monthly meeting.

We had a very strong suspicion that they would not show up because at one point we received an email saying “it was all a hoax theres [sic] no telepathy sorry”. Mr. Rodriguez then said that he and his mother share the same email address and that it was his mother that had sent the "hoax" apology email.

Even though they did not appear it was still good practice on how to prepare for a Paranormal Challenge.

Thanks Derek. Just wondering, are you here due to the Vision From Feeling thread we have going on? Anita mentions your group (if it's the same IIG chapter) and the test protocol she claims to be setting up with you. She also blames the lack of progress on the groups' dragging its heals.

I'm sure everyone would be interested in your comments.

Yes, we are the same IIG that is dealing with Anita Ikonen. Her complaint is not completely unjustified. Being an all-volunteer organization can sometimes drag things out longer than we would like, but the biggest issue has been nailing down exactly what she can, or cannot, detect. She has made some statements on the JREF Forum that are contradictory to some statements that she has made to us.

I am not on the JREF Forum as much as I really should be, but another one of the IIG members is and he has been put in charge of communicating with Anita directly so that we can move her application along more quickly.

I am on the IIG Steering Committee, but I am not directly involved in the Anita Ikonen testing protocol discussion. I have been more involved in UFO claims, specifically the Billy Meier Case.
