As coup attempts go, pretty much South American standard. Nothing like those in Eastern Europe and Asia where the military does all the heavy lifting. A lot to learn Trumpers.

Speculation (more like wishful thinking): Congress reconvenes. The objectors have a change of heart and withdraw. Voting result announcement proceeds. Call for Trump to resign due to his inaction and lack of response (and possibly, incitement.) Pence is privately really pissed off and looks to help Trump be fired.

Pretty much on every network. "Terrorist attack" might be an exaggeration. A large number of Trump demonstrators has broken into the Capitol building, possibly by smashing windows, and are wandering freely, but there's been no shooting, no bombs, no hostages, etc. It's a mess, but not on a level with recent tragedies.

There's no "possibly" about it. CNN is showing the footage of them smashing their way through windows military-style.
 
Now listen maybe this isn't a politically based riot at all but just a bunch of random angry people who all decided to riot in the same way at the same time while chanting the same slogans. I mean should we really bring politics into this? Some people are just jerks for no reason.

They're probably mentally ill, and anyway a guy who voted Democrat once broke into somebody's house which is totally the same as this.
