I remember that happening when the "Woman Empowering Woman" scam was closed down.
SOme of the partcipants went bonkers on camera. It was all a plot by Men to keep woman from empowering each other.

Oh, I remember that! It was big in the local TV area where I lived at the time. I particularly remember some of the participants and promoters being interviewed before it collapsed. The interviewer was trying very hard to point out the problems. This was not hard because the scheme was on the Isle of Wight, which doesn't have a very big population. The point where there was nobody else left to recruit was imminent enough that I'd have thought that anyone with an IQ a couple of points above turnip would have got it. But no, all that happened were howls of outrage that anyone would dare to diss this wonderful scheme that was going to lift so many women out of poverty.

Then it collapsed, of course,.
