Case Dismissed - Kevin Ryan v. Underwriters Labs

I look forward to the twoofer's spin! I can set the atomic clock by it!one11!!eleventyoo0111111!!!!!

Ack - don't give Christophera any ideas. I dread the thought of trudging through another one of his lawsuits.

Christophera had lawsuits? I must have bowed out of that thread too early (around the hundred billion post mark). Did he win?:p

But Ryan's lawyer still gets paid, right?

I just want to make sure someone's thinking of the children lawyers.

Next time I'm in Ontario, you're on. I'm hoping to vacation in Canada next summer with my friend and her kids, but it will depend on money and time (I'm also thinking of taking my vacation to visit my best friend, who lives just outside Washington, D.C., in order to track down all the witnesses Lyte "missed" ).

And, if you make it as far as Toronto and are here on a third Friday of a month, don't forget the Toronto Skeptics dinner meeting -- see my sig.

Even better, if you do make it here, let me know in advance and I'll buy both you and LashL a beer (one each). :D

My lord. Well, I was right about several things: Courts bend over backwards to try to find something to salvage from a Complaint. And Motions to Dismiss are generally met with a lecture from the Court on what you did wrong and exactly what to do to correct it.

I personally believe Ryan will file an amended complaint that tries to shoehorn itself into the judge's instructions. His goal is and always was to survive long enough to get to the discovery phase. And he and his lawyers are clearly stupid enough to disregard all the warnings about sanctions.

Whether his amended complaint will survive the inevitable motion to dismiss is another story.

Dude, seriously...

What... the [rule8]?

What on EARTH is this guy trying to claim? I tried to read it and got nowhere due to the entire lack of coherency! Can someone translate Christophese and explain this to me?

From what I remember (because I am NOT rereading that nonsense), Christopher believes that an ancient Native American cult brainwashed him which caused him to hurt himself somehow. He believes that they are brainwashing children and hurting them somehow.

He subpoenaed the City of Santa Barbara to produce all sorts of records of people committed against their will for mental illness in the 1800s. This would somehow show a pattern of something that would be evidence of an ongoing something or other.

The city, quite reasonably, ignored his request. He sued the city and, after several attempts by the court to get him to make sense, his suit was dismissed.

Unlike Kevin, Ryan, Christopher is quite severely ill. You can read in the transcripts just how hard the court works to preserve his dignity and it's just heartbreaking.

In my mind, Christopher is exempt from all scorn reserved for Truthers. He is as sad a case as exists.

Um...

Wow...

I have... no response to that load of hogwash from Christopher whatsoever... so I'll just be going now.

I'm still wondering about Christophera's attempt to get all the judges of the Santa Barbara County Superior Court disqualified from hearing his case, on the theory that their employment by the county would prejudice them in the county's favor. I don't think he ever clarified who he expected to hear the case if this motion were granted.

Well my ISP Time Warner recently changed itself to Comcast. They never sent notice for me to change my email adderess or my homepage. My primary email was changed, secondary lost in limbo along with my website although I can still access it online just not able to FTP yet. I will get a spider and download the site but until then, both dismissal PDFs are at...

Funny how every time the Troofers run up against the legal system, they get their heads handed to them on platter.
Remember when they blithly ignored copyright laws in putting copyrighted footage on the first couple of versions of "Loose Change",then had to remove it when threatned by a lawsuit?

They're on an uneven playing field. Everyone knows all judges are neocons. :D
