"Capitalism is Evil" - Michael Moore.

It's price we pay for having a dynamic economy where new technologies are always emerging and some jobs are becoming obsolete every day. .

Ok, why are people so ocupied with forcing their pre-set agenda in black & white terms that they are blinded to honest arguments?

Do you really believe that the jobs lost, for instance, during the last economic crisis, were because new technologies are emerging?, in any case, you must KNOW that is not the only cause, Im even doubtfoul is the main one, but hell, even if it makes my case weaker Im here admiting it may well be. In any case, you are being dishonest portraying "dynamic economy" and "new technologies" as the ONLY cause for losing jobs.

Well. It seems the company itself has helped Moore to paint them as bad guys with its choice of name. But even such companies actually serve a useful economic function.

Not bad guys, just selfish people who won-t see any benefit in preventing a significant amount of people losing its jobs, because they wont take any finantial loss, and I mean, any PERSONAL finantial loss, please dont diverge about "companies" losing benefits and that..

Wait... Michael Moore's final conclusion is that the replacement for capitalism is... democracy????

Is it frightening to anyone else that he apparently doesn't know the difference between a political system and an economic one?

what? politicians make a lot of economic choices, and common people are excluded from doing anything about it. The bail outs (all of them, over the years), NAFTA, jobs moving away, etc. People are against this and it goes on with the blessing of politicians anyway. There isn't democracy when it comes to economic decision making for the country and it is an extremely important issue for the majority of people. The only people available to realistically elect represent the interests of the elite, and its really freaking obvious.

I haven't seen MM's movie, and I generally dislike him because he is dishonest; but there are many ways for a person to reach the same conclusion. I am sure you wouldn't call Noam Chomsky ignorant of political science or history and he says basically the same thing about what needs to occur. I also strongly suspect that MM used "democracy" to avoid using the s word, because of all the bs about calling obama a socialist recently. The media climate has made endorsing socialism unacceptable; democrats who argue that obama isn't a socialist and republicans arguing that he is both give the impression that socialism is out of the question and automatically bad. everyone got that part, no matter what 'side' they happened to be on. Again, moore has always been dishonest, so it wouldn't shock me if using a less precise term was part of the plan.

That's funny, because when ClearChannel bought out our local programing, they kept the old stuff, plus added three stations.
Well there was a town that had an emergency. When they needed the radio to broadcast the emergency warning, it turned out that Clear Channel who owned it was broadcasting from a remote location. There was no one in any building that the police were able to contact to get an emergency broadcast out.

Here's a fairly balanced account of the incident in question.

There are many additional reasons that any national syndicated chain, while it might bring economic efficiency and profits, at the same time takes a lot away in the exchange. Profits are not the sole measurement of value.
