EVA Mendes is so naked and so sexy in an ad for Secret Obsession, the new fragrance from Calvin Klein Inc., that TV networks rejected the spot until it was cleaned up, and still won't air it until after 9 p.m. The commercial "taps into the secrecy of a private moment - where it's clear that Eva is having illicit thoughts," marketer Lori Singer told WWD. The spot's creative director, Fabien Baron, angrily blamed President Bush for the censorship: "This country really needs a new president. This country is so messed up . . . I really can't believe this is happening."

Not a bad PR move - make a soft-porn TV ad that will obviously fall foul of broadcasting rules, then go screaming to the media about "censorship". What's the ad's latest viewing figures on YouTube, again?
 
Yeah, I remember back in '99 when the networks used to have hardcore sex in their advertisements. I can't believe we've reverted to such a puritan society in the last 8 years. :rolleyes:
 
Sad on so many fronts, from "blame Bush" when this really is a Clinton deal in a lot of ways, to the fear that Americans (meaning USA'ians) have of the human body.
 
Howard Stern went on for about a year about how Bush was oppressing him, and all this post Janet Jackson crap and the repercussions from that.

Oh how he had people riled up about censorship.

Then he announced he was leaving terrestrial radio and going to satellite.

Hmmm. It would have behooved him to generate interest in his leaving to help people adopt that as the standard for vehicles.

I actually see a lot of naked Women in TV, especially in Commercials. So I have to blame Bush nevertheless ... for not invading us and replacing the free press with a patriotic, Bible Belt obeying one.
 
Did you ever notice that, even in the Bible Belt, animals just walk around naked and no one seems to care? Animals are so immoral in this respect. No wonder they can't get into Heaven.

I wonder why there is so much hate towards nudity anyway. Jesus - God himself made all that muddy, evil, dirty stuff himself. ;)

In theory I think any cable network could show it, as there are not federal censorship on them, other than obsenity laws.

Now there is certainly an agenda for the FCC to start censoring cable and satalite, because so many people can now watch so much TV without official goverment censorship.

1. He could create side-worlds to explore bizarre sexuality if he wanted.

2. He can spy on "real" perversion infinitely well.

3. He doesn't need to do any of that because he just knows what it's all like anyway, since he knows everything.

4. He doesn't have to be afraid of out of control governments, police, dying, etc. But threatens us with torture and death if we don't pointless help poor people that he chooses to not help.
