Can we finally agree

Easily won Presidency of USA, handily trouncing idiotic Fat Albert.

His father was the head of the CIA and was also a President. Then his son gets elected in a court room stacked with judges appointed by his father.

It's 'easily won' when you are holding all the cards.

If that had happed in an African country.....

Yep, sounds like a consistent winner to me. I'd say he's done way more with his life than any single person who participates in this forum. Period.

Want to put money on that?

Want to put money on that?

Sure. Your money. Lets bet it all.

And besides, let's use socialist/liberal/fantasist/utopian "logic" here...

The kooks say, "Daddy bought him his way into Yale, Nat Guard, Harvard, business, 1988 campaign, 1994 & '98 governorship, '00 & '04 Presidencies, Supreme Court, blah blah blah."

What did your dad do for you? If you amounted to anything that would be evidence that your dad bought you some success. But since you don't amount to anything, then obviously your dad didn't do anything substatial for you. And who can blame him? After all, who wants to waste their efforts on a socialist/liberal/fantasist/utopian of a child?

What a futile effort THAT would be. No use throwing money, time, and effort into the toilet.

Hey! socialist/liberal/fantasist/utopian "logic" is kind of fun for laughs!

Let's see you avoid proving your statement

The kooks say, "Daddy bought him his way into Yale, Nat Guard, Harvard, business, 1988 campaign, 1994 & '98 governorship, '00 & '04 Presidencies, Supreme Court, blah blah blah."

You do understand what logic is, don't you?

1. Ad hominem An ad hominem argument is any that attempts to counter anothers claims or conclusions by attacking the person, rather than addressing the argument itself. True believers will often commit this fallacy by countering the arguments of skeptics by stating that skeptics are closed minded. Skeptics, on the other hand, may fall into the trap of dismissing the claims of UFO believers, for example, by stating that people who believe in UFO's are crazy or stupid.

What did your dad do for you? If you amounted to anything that would be evidence that your dad bought you some success. But since you don't amount to anything, then obviously your dad didn't do anything substatial for you. And who can blame him? My father taught me manners. Seems yours did not.

What a futile effort THAT would be. No use throwing money, time, and effort into the toilet.

Hey! socialist/liberal/fantasist/utopian "logic" is kind of fun for laughs!

So you are making a claim that you are not willing to prove. I would call that lying. But it does seem to go along with your rudeness. Your father must be very proud of you.

And he did handily defeat Fat Albert. Voter corruption in FL and MO (amply documented at the time) created the disgusting spectacle of Fat Albert attempting to steal the Presidency through Electoral College shenanigans in FL. Fortunately, he failed and W didn't! As usual.
The numbers don't agree with you.

The handy defeat of John Kerry might be a better case to try and make.

Reagan handily defeated his opponents. Bush squeaked by both times.

Five million margin of victory is "squeaking by?"

The electoral tally was indeed a squeaker, if that is what you are referring to.

Somebody once said of Bush that he was born on third base, but thinks he hit a triple. Let's see, say we hypothetically put Bush in one room with a pad of paper and we put Lincoln in another with a pad of paper. One of them is going walk out with something like, say, the Gettysburg Address. What do you suppose the other one is going have on his pad of paper? I would be surprised if it surpassed something written by a sixth grader. Tell the truth, you'd be surprised too, wouldn't you. I'd be surprised if Dubya could read the Gettysburg Address, let alone comprehend it - he doesn't do nuance.

Try to imagine if Bush had to actually write his own speeches. Can you even possibly imagine what the result would be? And to think we have a man like this, of this calibre and this character and this intelligence occupying the most powerful office on earth. Try to imagine Dubya writing a book - you can't even imagine it can you. Oh, he'll have a book with his name on it, but you'd be a fool to think he will have typed or conceived a single sentence of it. We have a man as President who you couldn't even trust to write his own speech to a convention of Rotarians. Try to imagine Bush writing the Declaration of Independence or, again, even being able to read and comprehend it. I can't imagine it. Can you honestly?

Every President doesn't have to be a Lincoln or a Jefferson, but I would think they should at least be within shouting distance of men like this. We live in a country where nobody will tell the truth, where nobody will say the emperor has no clothes. The people of the press know that Bush is a fool and an incompetent and not fit for office, but nobody has the balls to say it. Dan Quayle is at least as big a fool and he was within a heartbeat of being the most powerful man on earth.

We have several serious contenders for the Presidency who don't accept that evolution is a fact and we have a man in office thinks it is just "one theory" - the other being "God did it". We live in a country where in order to be seen as fit for office you have to believe in some fairy tale about virgin birth and angels and you have to have faith in some invisible sky daddy. There something seriously wrong with this country and almost nobody with any influence has the courage to say it.

We live in a country where hundreds of billions of dollars have been thrown away in a futile attempt to prevent people from amusing themselves by chemically altering their mental state. Yeah, that's a priority we should throwing billions of dollars at - enforcing the morality of the puritans. We have a country where when to President offers up a candidate for a position in his administration his words of commendation are "He is a man of faith." Yeah, well so where the 9/11 highjackers. The last thing we need in the people who make the decisions for this country is "faith". By the way, I am no liberal, except in my personal views regarding other people's rights to live as they choose. The left and right are two sides of the same coin and they deserve each other.
