Can a CharlieHebdo-type attack happen in the US?

Of course threats of violence work. The police rely on it.

It's nice to see that local government authorities recognize her tactics and are unwilling to put the public at risk in service of her agenda. Geller is free to throw the cartoon on a sandwich board and march herself around Times Square if she likes. Except... threats of violence work.

No doubt she'll find some way to shift the security burden to others down the road.

Last time I looked she wasn't the one killing over cartoons.

Oh, don't worry, I'm pretty sure D.C. has a policy against killing over cartoons as well. They have both ends of the nut spectrum in view.

Killing over cartoons = showing cartoons?

One side of the equation seems a little overbalanced.

Well this should be an interesting test of the Second Amendment, open carry, the wiseness of preventing any gun regulation whatsoever, and what happens when hate-speech rally attendees come armed.

Police ramp up for anti-Islam demonstration outside Phoenix mosque
The main organizer, Phoenix resident Jon Ritzheimer, said the point of the contest to draw Mohammad was "to expose the true colors of Islam."

Do we have another thread on this event? Seems like it's more of the same stuff this thread is about.

To get Islam to show its colors, it seems we have to show ours as well.

Hopefully, local governments will show the same discretion after my band of merry militants start mowing down the death to Israel crowd during their demonstrations. Let em hire their own security.

Bwah-ha-ha-ha! Omigod, stop! heeheeheee...

The horror... "I'd really like to get an abortion but I don't want to be inconvenienced." Of course you don't sweetheart.

Please connect the two. Unless your interpretation of "terrorism" is so broad as to include "voting"...then save it.

No, I do not consider voting to be a form of terrorism. I do, however, consider murder, attempted murder, assault, kidnapping, arson and bombings to fit the term.
