Calorie Restriction & Longevity

Okay, then the obvious question would be what would such a diet entail? What would be on the menu?

Just looking at a few such, it doesn't seem to much matter, so long as basic nutritional needs are met and overall calories are restricted by the predetermined amount (which varies tremendously based upon the individual and the dietary goals).
 
Calorie restriction does not mean starvation, starvation is calorie restriction but calorie restriction can be a moderately hypocaloric diet. Calorie restriction has a very wide meaning and it can be misinterpreted for very hard nutritional conditions such as the Minesota Experiment but it can be far less cruel.

No cannoli is cruel and unusual. My idea of restriction must have at least some cannulicchi.
