Bumper sticker. . .(shudder)

I don't see how the two can be separated, except as an academic exercise.
As they are separated in scripture, I don't see how they can not be separated.

Worst dang type of theist--when you say you have faith you are simply being honest and mean that you have faith.

How am I supposed to argue with that? Harumphs all 'round.

You are a lying sack of sh-t, I never posted that.

Paul
Why am I not surprised that you play the obtuse literalist? Could it be due to you being obtuse? Is it possible that the italics were for a purpose?

Amazing at how little it takes to overtemp your brain. Did the Agent Orange eat most of it?

Paulhoff, knock it off. Save your indignation for others more deserving. Darth may be a Christian, but he is still a good guy who just happens to be wrong.:D

And I promise you that you don't want to be in a flame war with him. "I'll take 'Well Done' for 200, Alex."

Sorry to throw the hanky in here (or whatever strange implement those US "Football" referee/umpire guys throw in), but Houston, we have a problem.

All joking aside, one piece of forumdom is sacrosanct - thou shalt never change a post or make it look as though another post/er has said something other than what was typed. Bolden, italicise, strikethrough at your credit, but amend a post at your peril.

That's hallowed ground. Paul's right this time.

What the bloody hell are you blowing (your whistle) about The? I have not messed with anybody's post. Those are my own words, underlined italicized and embellished any way I damn well please. I have not quoted or edited Paulhoff or anyone else in the post you cite. In the occasional instance that I do change someone else's post, I add "(emphasis mine)" afterwards.

Fifteen yards for unnecessary roughness, TA.

Hmm... I just noticed that Huntster got suspended. Frankly, I don't think that his small crudity merited being reported. Yeah, I know rules are rules and if you break them, you may receive punishment... erm... I mean discipline, but I say let the punishment fit the crime, and this was about as much a crime as jaywalking. Sheesh!:boggled:

Not you. As if your words would need embellishment!

Darth changed the wording of one of Paul's and you seemed to be cheerleading him doing it. I would have expected you to maybe have suggested it wasn't great play.

Huntster suspended? WTF?? He just trying to keep up with the atheists?

Oh, then maybe that was the one you should have quoted. I wasn't defending him changing Paulhoff's post, in fact I didn't even notice it. I was saying that (for the most part) Darth is a thoughtful and reasonable poster. Calling him a "rhymes with 'pack-of-spit'" is just a little over the top. Darth probably would be better to ignore him, but if he changed Paulhoff's posts, then I agree, he shouldn't have. I wasn't cheerleading him for that.

He apparently was trying to slyly sneak banned words past the autocensors, and he had been warned before. Maybe so, but I would say his main crime was lack of imagination. It is so easy to allude to a rule-8 word without actually saying it.

Not that I would ever do such a thing.

Gee, me right, the world has gone off it’s axis.

Paul

:) :) :)

And yes, I will let it go to my head. pffffffff

Oh, then maybe that was the one you should have quoted.
Aha, now I understand you confusion. My copy & paste skills [nil] combined with my preview skills [nil] to leave you wondering WTF?
I thought I'd pasted this in:

Yet another false generalization, yet another false pigeonhole

True to form.

DR
That was Darth's post,

but Paul's actual post was:
The religious should talk about being pigeonhole, such hostility.

Paul

:) :) :)

It looked very much, from your quote I used, that you saw it as a good thing.

Ok, I've had two warnings myself for that. As you say, very minor.

Why allow piss and not the [hopefully] more solid excrement? Bugger's ok, yet it was the filthiest insult one could throw 100 years ago - ask Oscar Wilde! I do like the one which rhymes with "hunt" myself. He'll be back, breathing fire.

No I didn't notice it, but now that you have pointed it out to me, I see what you mean. In DR's defense, he did italaicize it. I agree that is not enough to count as a disclaimer, (A lot of people use, "fixed that for you") but enough to see that his motive was not to try to convince others that Paulhoff had actually said those words. (Especially since the posts were right next to each other.)

Okay, in true referee fairness, unsportsmanlike conduct on both sides. Darth, sign off on your editing. Paulhoff, it wasn't worth that near-rule-8-violation response.

Man, what ever happened to people accepting gentle ribbing? Are all the Flame Warriors becoming Crybaby? Where are the Kung Fu Masters and Eagle Scouts these days?

Cute, but hell isn' going to be a laughing matter so I don't think one should make fun of it.

And the devil isn't some weird looking guy dressed in red with a pitch fork. He was the most beautiful angel until he rebelled against God. He still appears to people as a angel to see who he can deceive. But he's just a scum bag I can't wait till God gets rid of myself! Looks are definitely deceiving!

Do you think I'm bad for wanting to see the devil burn in hell? I always said I never wanted to see anyone go there, but not him and his ugly, lying, corrupt, perverted friends.

Bid the devil fairwell because his time is close at hand! And if I were you I'd make sure you weren't on the losing team.

So I guess the lesson is, "rebel against God and become more powerful, able to escape His tyranny."

So what does the devil look like, apart from being ugly? If you can't tell us, then how can you say that Gypsey's image is wrong? (And for the record, he is usually depicted as having red skin, not just "dressed in red".)

As for being on the "losing team", from what I can see, there seems to be as much evil in the world as ever. Yeah, I know you claim (without evidence) that will change soon, but then, cheerleaders always cheer for their own team, so you're not exactly an impartial judge. Only us impartial atheists are really qualified to give reliable commentary because we don't have a dog in this race.

And what do you mean by "soon". This year? A billion years? What does "soon" even mean to God?

devil = god = Jesus (as son of god) = magical thinking = all in the brain.

Paul

I noticed you’re back. Mind responding to my earlier
post?

If either lineage (they’re both different) reported in the bible for Jesus is correct then God directly excluded Jesus from the Davidic lineage.

This has always been my biggest confusion. the devil is the "great deceiver", right?
Than wouldn't the biggest deception be to appear as a messenger of god or to inspire people to preach a tainted view of god?
With this said, doesn't it stand to reason that the most likely place to find satan is in the fundamentalist movements? It seems to me that the message of women being secondary, gays are bad(yet leaders are continually gay), muslims are bad, we're going to heaven your not, science is bad.... These all seem quite evil concepts to outside observers.

If I were to make any guesses, I'd say that the fundamentalists are more likely currently worshiping "satan" than any god of the testaments.

but, that's just my take.

I don't believe in the devil or hell and I am not a child who has never
heard all the stories supposedly describing that part of your religion,
I'm sure even if he had red skin someone would find him attractive if
he were real , after all look at all the white skinned people who married
native americans through the centuries, they musta liked the red skin look:eek:

personally I wouldn't want any creature to suffer for being more truthful than the christian god,
not even a so called devil
and from I can tell that was the devils biggest sin.
as for what "team" i'm on, none that I'm aware of, I'm not really
into sports cept maybe a nascar race every once in a while:rolleyes:

another bumpersticker, this one my son got for me
