I'm sure no cop is stupid enough to trust a big killdozer tank thing driven by a maniac not to crush him, and generally always kept a path of retreat clear. Most of them were probably engaged in keeping spectators away who might be that stupid.

Australian news reported the guy was shooting at people from inside the tractor....any truth in that one??

Since dead men tell no tales, we can't be sure, but nobody was hit with any shots. Could be by design or he just missed. I don't know why someone would knock over buildings where people may have been inside but purposely not try to hit someone with a bullet.
