British "Homophobic" Snickers Ad Yanked After Complaints By Americans

Boo Hoo my feelings got hurt! Shut Up. I hate those freaking letter writers. They ruin it for everyone.
 
I refuse to belive this stupidity is anything other than a carefully manufactured part of the ad campaign.

Otherwise I might go crazy trying to figure this out. The only thing that makes sense is someone's 13 year old son saw the commercial and said "the way that guy is walking looks gay" and was taken literally.

I think the problem is not in the words, what he was dressed in or the fact that he was walking but how he was walking. Look at his bum.

Mind you I think whoever complained about it was a bit sensitive.
 
Firstly, Mr T is still alive? Wow!

Secondly, what are the British doing eating Snickers bars? Snickers is like the Ford of candy bars. I thought the UK was awash in superior chocolate?

Thirdly, powerwalking? I thought that died out in the late eighties, same as Mr T. Did he time travel and bring it with him?

Whoever suggested this is a marketing ploy seems to have sussed something out. (Uh, it was an ad.) :D

Conceptually, a snickers shooting machine gun is logistically dicey. I'd recommend a machine gun that fires silver jacketed Hershey's Kisses. (Actually, aluminum foil jacketed, so no, they don't work against werewolves.) Higher cyclic rate of fire and more ammo per gun team.

Obviously this only became a problem because someone complained. The question is, was it some overly-sensitive homosexuals? Or some very over-sensitive, busy body, politically correct leftists who aren't in fact gay but decided that this would offend gay people and simply must stop?

If the former, then I can somewhat understand. They may or may not be reading too much into it, but at least they are speaking for themselves and I don't feel very comfortable telling them how they should feel about it. But if it was the latter who complained, then for shame.

I don't see many other options. I doubt any right wingers were the ones complaining. If anything, they would probably enjoy it being Mr. T roughing up on a homosexual.

Somehow, I think the stereotype of the latter there is way overused proportionate to the actual amount of people who are that way. I wouldn't call it a myth, but it's an awfully common excuse for outrage.

I mean, I thought the commercials were stupid, and I'm neither gay nor an uptight liberal. On the other hand, I thought the commercial with the two mechanics accidentally kissing was hi-larious.
