Keep attacking your straw men if it makes you feel better.
Do you understand what a "straw man" is?

Most Leave voters I know never expected utopia: they were given a clear choice between remaining or leaving and decided they wanted to leave.
Bollocks. Leavers promised everything would be same except better.

No sensible person believes the wild claims made by politicians - we discounted all the wild claims of the leave campaigners just as we discounted the wilder excess of the project fear campaigners.
Another of your lies.

I find it fascinating that now the Brexshiteers' lies have been exposed, its die-hard supporters claim they knew they were being played but voted Leave anyway. Do you realise how stupid that makes you look?
It's the same effect as with any True Believer; they have too much of their ego and self-image invested in their beliefs to be able to accept contradictory facts and painful truths.
Hence the upsurge in racism, xenophobia and "otherism" amongst the 3D Brexit supporters; someone else must be responsible for their problems.

I think that's too harsh. For ceptimus to be lying, he would have to know that his claims are false but make them anyway. However much you may disagree with him, can you demonstrate that a) his claims are false and b) that he knows it? a) may be easy but b) is a hard sell.

Don't forget the likes of Boris Johnson who knew full well they were lying but never expected to win. They are still lying and blustering and are now looking to go full Trump to insulate themselves from the consequences of lying.

He maintains that "No sensible person believes the wild claims made by politicians" and yet, given the repetition and acceptance of the lies of the Leavers, those claims that appeal to Leaver prejudices (floods of immigrants ruining Britain et cetera), are widely accepted as true. Either vast numbers of Britons are not "sensible" or they do believe the Brexiteer nonsense.

A promise is a promise. Your view that certain promises can be ignored and others can't is cherry picking.

And I explained very clearly why some promises are more binding than others. What part of my argument did you disagree with?

The people who chose to believe all the Project Fear claims will be able to see over the next few months and years how accurate those claims were.

The claims about what would happen prior to actually leaving have already been shown to be mostly wrong.

I wonder how many Project Fear believers are still willing, at this point, to stand by the claims made about what will happen once we have actually left?

Many of the prominent Project Fear MP campaigners are no longer Members of Parliament. Cameron, Osborne, Hammond, Greening, Letwin, Soubry, etc. etc. either chose to stand down as MPs or were thrown out by voters. But although they no longer have a platform in Parliament to spout their drivel, we still have on record what they claimed in the run up to the referendum, and we will soon be able to assess the accuracy of all their claims .

:( Now we have to suffer gloating Brexiteers.

Pride comes before a fall.

Keep it up!

Happy for any examples. As I recall most claims of the effects of brexit were after we left.

When considering what has happened since the vote we need to remember that the country's struggles have been offset by the Government pumping 3 years worth of EU contributions into the economy to stave off the worst effects.

He didn't believe all the wild utopian promises made by brexiter politicians, (despite arguing for them all along) he just helped flush his country down the toilet because he felt like it.
Despicably rediculous or rediculously despicable.

There were various warnings about an economic downturn immediately following a Brexit vote. This did not happen.

Of course, those who point this out fail to acknowledge that those predictions were made on the basis that existing economic policies would be continued. Instead the Bank of England resumed Quantitative Easing to mitigate the risks of recession and the government abandoned Austerity - both of which pumped cash into the economy.

And there was still an economic downturn. The predicted trend was right albeit, the Govt took action to mitigate the scale.

Yes, but from a Brexiteer perspective, a forecast which says that growth will be reduced to 1% (from the long term 2% - 3% trend) is as wrong as one which says the economy will boom if it turns out that the economy grew by 1.1% ;)
