BREAKING: Feds raid Copperfield warehouse!

No, the cameras only work there if the customers ask for it.. but it costs a bit more. Especially if you choose the full service.

If I ever get to the point I'm making 57 million a year...

1. I'm gonna keep 2-3 million lying around just in case the mood strikes me to roll around in it.

2. I will never again wear pants.

Grand jury investigates Copperfield allegations

By Mike Carter
Seattle Times staff reporter

A Seattle federal grand jury is investigating allegations by an aspiring model from Washington who said she was raped, assaulted and threatened by magician David Copperfield at his private island in the Bahamas in July, at least three federal law-enforcement officials have confirmed.

That makes no sense at all. The FBI has no jurisdiction in the Bahamas. Neither would a Seattle jury.

The woman who is making the charge is based in Seattle, and David Copperfield is based in Las Vegas. The charge is alleged to have happened on Musha Cay, David Copperfield's private islands.

That means the violent crime charge concerns 2 U.S. citizens, allegedly on the private property of one of them, and goes across state lines, putting it within the FBI's jurisdiction.

Also, it's a FEDERAL grand jury, which is based in Seattle simply because that is where the complaint was made. If the complaint had been made in Boston, the story would be talking about a Boston federal grand jury. (Remember, grand juries just determine whether there is sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.)

Is it a good idea to do magic tricks in the courtroom to try and impress the judge or jury?

Just wondering.

Only if you're a magician. If you're a singer then you should do 2-3 songs. Don't forget to bring your backup band. If you're a doctor then try to bring a heart patient that needs open heart surgery- that'll impress everyone.

If you're a garbage collector then I'd suggest you just sweep the floor. Driving a garbage truck into the courtroom probably won't help.

Wouldn't a garbage collector just collect the garbage? Tha janitor would sweep.
I did a tight 20 minute set of stand up comedy for the judge. He laughed but still wasn't buying it.

Am I the first to make the 'David Cop-a-feel' pun?

I find the rape...unlikely, given that...er...nevermind. It's just unlikely, trust me.

Okay, so when are the "David Cop-a-feel" jokes going to start?

It may be worth noting that Kot--I mean, Copperfield--himself has made those same jokes during his shows for decades now.

Am I the first to make the 'David Cop-a-feel' pun?

Nay, thou be-est not the first.

But I did notice that Jay Leno resorted to this pun in his Monday monolog.

I remmeber an article from a while ago, about he and some friends got mugged or something. I beleive he claimed to use slight of hand to hide his wallet or something.

Yeah.

According to the more accurate news articles at the time, he used a magic trick method to hide his wallet. While some news reports said "sleight of hand", that's inaccurate and I don't recall any direct quote from Copperfield using the term.

Yeah.
