Amusingly I got stuck with my sister in "Young pioneers". The local communist party version of Scouts / Guides.
It was so crappy, you earned badges for "clear thought", "Maxist expression" and "Soviet liason" as opposed to sewing, knitting and camping. We made a break to Girl Guides but eventually got chucked out, not 'cos of a lack of faith (although that was certainly present) but because we both smoked.
Funny that, the working people's liberators didn't give a stuff that
10-13 year old girls were chain smokers....
