Bowling, Bowling, Bowling....

So, do we have enough for sure bowlers to make this an official unofficial event?

Considering the contract has been signed, I would consider it official. :)

It looks like there are another 7 or 8 people not on Hutch's previous list that have responded (plus a few in the other thread), so it looks like we are nearing the maximum of 64 bowlers.

As the head honcho captain president-for-life of the PINWORMS team, I say let it roll.

Although I don't have the reference, I am pretty sure this was the name of Dave Barry's old bowling team. He may hold the copyright.

However, you are free to use the name of my team, since I'm not going to be able to be there:

Bipolar Bowlers.

I've talked Terry into bowling, more or less against his will. I think the team he and I are on should be called "Purple People Eaters"

:halo:

Then the PINWORMS will roll hard and roll true, shouting our team name at every moment, appropriate and not.

Mostly because I think a copyright lawsuit over the name PINWORMS would be a hilarious read.

A couple more potential team names: "Dolls with Balls" and "The Pin Pricks".

Just sayin'..........

OK folks, this is how it is going to go:

We are set for 9-11 PM on Thursday, I have confirmed it this week with the Bowling manager.

When you register on Thursday for TAM, I hope to have a small space near there (maybe near the Forum table) with a sign-in sheet and a larger sheet showing the 16 lanes and space for 4 names per lane. My sign-in sheet will only list your Forum name, so please sign in with your proper (or improper) name. Except for those I list, anything short of 64 will be open to the multitudes to sign up.

If we have over 64 signees, the Bowling manager has indicated I can rent more lanes for the evening, long as I tell them 3-4PM. So if your on the overage list, show up anyway as there is a good chance you will get in.

Show up no later than 8:45PM, so I/Hoke can check you off the list, you can get your shoes, pick out a ball, and be ready to go at 9PM when they turn the lanes on. They will not wait, the lanes turn on at 9 and shut down at 11PM. I'll be near the shoe rental counter to check you in, shoe rental is included in the price.

The goal is to get two games for everybody in the two hours, and this should be doable.

I'll put out the revised list tomorrow after reviewing the new adds.

Hoke, I may need you to man the registration for about 2-3 hours on Thursday (1-3PM) or if you are not available, I'll find another volunteer.

FYI, I bowled for the first time in three months this week and threw a 96 and 133. I ain't pretty, but I picked up a couple of tough spares.'

I am lunching at Ichiban on Thursday, but we are leaving around 11:00 am, so I hope I can get back by 1:00 pm. Will it be a crisis if I am a little late? I may be giving people rides, and coordinating skeptics is a bit like herding jellyfish.

Mon ami, this ain't gonna be televised on Wide World of Sports. We're all just hopin' to keep the ball in our own lane and not be attached to it when it hits the pins.

The laughs will be created ex nihilo.

What about people like me, who aren't planning on actually bowling but would like to come hang out and witness the action? Can we just show up and watch and heckle?

Me and Wife2be would love to play, if there is space for us we'll be there (and be crushed)!
