I don't feel guilty about being white. Granted, they tried, in high school, with all of their PC history topics about how white man is evil, but I didn't buy it.

I'm of English and Irish descent and I'm proud of it. The New Zealand majority will be non-white within a few decades.

(Illegal) immigrant groups have no right to plead for amnesty or for open borders. Illegal immigrants are what they are, they have no right to be in here so it's the government's call on what to do with it.

The whole issue is based upon the premise that illegal immigration is overall bad for the country. And it's illegal. It's somewhat like drug smuggling. Would you see some smugglers pressuring congress to not stop them from building a fence? Or some Al-Qaeda operatives? I mean each one is a separate issue but the main idea in each is that they're illegal activities and should be stopped. One legal entity can't pressure congress to stop them from fighting it...

In spite of 10-12 million illegal immigrants, the economy is good, unemployment rates are low, crime is lower than it was 30 years ago, standards of living are high. Overall, prosperity has increased for Americans and immigrants, legal and illegal.

I know you people love to derail this and make it a general "immigration issue", but let me say it again, it's frigging ILLEGAL immigration. I'm an immigrant myself and I have no bias hatsoever towards immigration. I think it's fine as long as it's not abused by anyone. Which in this case, it is. Quit patronizing how wonderful would it be a world with no barriers or fences. I quite agree with you, but this is not an applicable situation we're dealing with. Thousands of illegal immigrants are coming in everyday, and the big bucks are making use of it.

Do you deny companies that employ Illegal immigrants make use of their status and pay them less than they would, were they legal?

Just because our economy in general might be doing alright from 30 years ago doesn't mean these millions of immigrants don't lower the wages. Which they do. Living Standards are high, but are they increasing? Is the dollar becoming more or less valuable over time? Can a sovereign country be able to progress with a constant flow of a million illegals coming in and out, cheapening the value of human labor in multiple industrial sectors.

Seriously I don't know how can one argue that illegal immigrants are any good for anyone except the corporations that take advantage thereof... I wish this wasn't a political issue anymore, and we woke up to realize this situation and try to understand why has it been this way for decades; why have these borders been open for so long now.
