I heard part of this interview on NPR today (second link--"what is capitalism"). It's an interview with Bruce R. Scott, a Harvard Business School prof who just published a book called "The Concept of Capitalism." He made some interesting points, and I'd be curious to hear feedback from other folks here on his book/arguments. Anyone else hear the interview?

eta: the blurb from the first link:
We think the answer is markets and the invisible hand, but our guest Bruce Scott says we’ve been getting it disastrously wrong for a long time now. Capitalism, as he defines it, is a form of governance, in which rules and rule-making are the system as much as the market. When you look at it closely, says Scott, it’s really the visible hand of regulators and regulation that make it capitalism. Bruce R. Scott, Professor Emeritus at Harvard Business School, is writing a book on capitalism. A key chapter from the book, “The Concept of Capitalism,” has been published independently.

I just read the amazon blurb. I assume there's more to it than that, because there's nothing revolutionary at all about that.

In fact, I don't think anyone who even casually understands economics doesn't understand that there are A) Markets, B) Independent Market Regulation, and C) Government Regulation.

That's essentially what the blurb says.

How do I view the key chapter? It wouldn't let me preview inside the book...

If you listen to the interview I think you'll get a better idea of what he's talking about. The preview at Google Books is limited.
