Book Test: Max & Any Others Interested

Well, whatever you're doing, stop it!

Another one bites the dust...

I just can't - ever since the grey alien stuck a paperclip up my nose no psi works anywhere near me!

This was an interesting one - I did my normal clear my mind routine and the only thing that came to mind was yellow - so I was torn between choosing the Simpsons or the Douglas Adams. (Not trying to hedge my bets here of course ;) )

Ladies and gentlemen. A round of applause please. Darat has his first hit!

See the full results of round 26 here.

I'M PSYCHIC!!!!!!!!!!

(Correction: The Dr said that isn't how I should spell it - it should be spelt psychotic.)

Damn and I just missed the lottery draw! I'll be down the police station tomorrow offering my services (unpaid of course) they should be pleased to get genuine psychic on their books.

Round 28 is over. The same book came up twice in a row, and you still didn't get it. Tcho!

Round 29 was slightly extended. Barbara Bates is turning out to be our new star, with 3 hits in 18 guesses!

Come on would be psychics and remote viewers.
Someone surely can do better than than that!

You need numbers for good stats.

From the next round I will be offerig two "flavours" of results. The first will be truncated, to remove all the idle players (those who had one go and gave up some time ago. Clancie, this means you).

The full results will also be available on a different page.
This is to make the results easier to digest for active participants.

Just a quick Bump for my book test.

It has been called "laughably corrupt" by Lucianarchy (though, of course, he can offer no evidence of this).

We have had 402 attempts so far, and just 23 hits.

Are you the psychic person we are crying out for? Give it a go today!

Just a little bump. Round 50 is now over! Blimey, doesn't time fly etc etc.

Still nothing exciting to report, but we live in hope.

Just a quick update on this. We're still going, but we still have no one performing with what you would call reliable results. Predictably, most players have given up (presumably disheartened at their lack of success) and we have only a few stalwarts still trying. If you're new to this forum, why not pop over to the test page and have a bash?

Current star appears to be Edward, who has provided 4 correct guesses out of 18 trials, which seems to be approaching significance (at least, according to my shaky grasp of mathematics) but still within the bounds of luck.

Here are the current results:

Can you do better?

Last call for entries

My long running book test is drawing to a close. At present we have had 104 rounds in 8 months, but I have decided to end the current experiment at 120 rounds. I feel I have examined this particular protocol in enough depth now, though no one has yet been able to perform in a manner not explainable by chance.

If anyone wants a last bash at stunning the world, you are welcome to join in the final stages.

Title contains the word "married" or "mariner" or "Mary"

There is a design on the cover like Celtic knotwork, only not a strand, just one big knot.

The book was during the 1800's. The language feels very formal.

Lotus, you need to click on Paj's links - you get to see the ten books Paj uses and pick one of those ten.

Your descriptions don't seem to target one of them in particular.

Title contains the word "married" or "mariner" or "Mary"
There is "Mastering Delphi 6" by Marco Cantu
and
A book about pregnancy by Dr. Miriam Stoppard
Those are about the closest

There is a design on the cover like Celtic knotwork, only not a strand, just one big knot.
"The Hobbit" is the only one on the list with anything like that

The book was during the 1800's. The language feels very formal.
"Shirley" by Charlotte Bronte is the only one written in the 1800s (1849 fact fans!)

Why not pop over to Paj's experiment here and see how you do Lotus.
