If anyone's interested.

My book is finished. It's available on Amazon.com Here. I'm submitting it to some Christian magazines and Atheist Magazines to hopefully review and I've also contacted a few people here to send a copy to to review it. It turned out different then I intended but I'm happy with it. I'll post reviews or links to reviews here if someone actually does review it.

Product Description
I had already been lurking for a few days on the forum, had taken part in a discussion on the home page and had seen how easy it was for a discussion to get sidetracked. The responses I got surprised me. That was when I knew I had stumbled into unfamiliar territory for me - a virtual land that I felt a curious interest in and a compelling need to explore more of. As I asked questions and took part in the discussions I began to see some patterns among the atheists. I also came to appreciate the diversity of thoughts and opinions amongst them. In addition to chronicling and preserving these discussions and some of the conclusions I came to, I hope that other Christians will find this dialogue interesting and perhaps helpful for their dealings with friends, family members, and others who may be atheists or may be questioning their faith.

Sincere congrats on making the effort to publish a book, and promoting better understand is a noble cause.

I suspect that there will be more atheists buying it to see what your perspective is, than there will be Christians buying it to see what an atheist perspective is.

It does not take much understanding to implement the two top strategies:

1: Pretend there are no atheists.
2: Accept that there are, and shun them.

I remember the atheist's favorite bible verses thread.

Page after page of ACS failing to understand how an atheist could point out the logical error in believing in an inerrant bible but ignoring sections calling for OT aherence and how that same atheist could also disagree with OT commands.

After that debacle, I doubt the overall perspective on atheists will be very insightful.

If the book tells Christians about the fact that there are atheists out there concerned as to exactly what kind of wrong beliefs they should hold, then it will have a useful function.

Why did you publish the book under a pseudonym? If I ever got my book published, I'd sure want people to see my real name.

If bunyips had wings they wouldn't be afraid of heights.

I'm surprised. You never struck me as the most literary of people... and even the abstract is a little strangely-worded.

From the abstract, it sounds as if you've printed excerpts of threads on JREF. Is that correct? I think that might be considered breach of copyright.

While I have my doubts about the quality, I sincerely congratulate you on publishing a book.

A few reasons. 1) In keeping with the whole (perceived) anonymity of the intenet and this particular format (forums), 2) I don't like Fame, and 3) John 3:30

Thanks ... I think ... uh ... never mind.

The Amazon excerpt got condensed.

Nope - every forum poster owns their own posts and only some of the posters who gave me permission were quoted - HERE They Gave Me Permission. Posters who did not give me permission or never replied or were questionable were not quoted.

Fair enough. Congratulations on getting your book together, then. Well done.

I'm curious about the excerpts as well. Must have missed the opt-in, or I would have.

Congrats on the book. Finishing is always the hardest part.

If Amazon condensed your description, can you re-write and re-submit? If so, then I strongly recommend you do. The current one does not read well at all, and it's no use in grabbing your potential audience (anyone who has found this book) and convincing them to buy.

I'd be willing to offer my own editorial skills. I'm not the best, but I manage to keep a roof over my family's heads and food on our table. Next year we may even get walls and a floor!

Congratulations ACS, I hope your book is very successful and that you get a lot of Christian readers. Even the knowledge that atheists HAVE different points of view will be a revelation for some of them. If I get a chance to read it I'll be interested to learn your insights. Sorry I didn't opt-in, I missed that.

I'm offended!
You never sent me a quote to approve!
That means I am not in your book!

No fame for poor [X], it seems.

Oh well, best of luck to you, and congratulations on seeing it through. ;)

Cheers
