BNP makes Sellafield legal threat

One bit i particularly liked was:

"In 2003 Sellafield let in a delegation from Sinn Fein. If they can let them in why not us?

It's a refreshing change to see the BNP comparing themselves to terrorists rather than the general public comparing them to nazis

On a legal point:

BNP spokesman Simon Darby said: "It is outrageous that a democratically-elected member of parliament for the North West cannot see something in his own constituency and directly in relation to his position.

Although Sellafield is governemnt funded it is now a private company, so does am MEP have the legal right to visit any business in his constituency, whether public or private?

I don't know how far those laws go, but i don't think they apply here. He asked permission to visit private property and was turned down. Should they* have to explain why he was turned down? I suppose any publicity is good publicity for the BNP.

I have no idea how they do it in the UK, i was just wondering if they have a chance to win a case about this incident.

You are correct, you have no idea. An MEP has no right to be allowed to visit any private company or building if the owner does not want it. If I own a bar I can ban griffin or anyone I want with giving any reason.
