You can criticise the behaviour of religions without being directly insulting to individuals.
I think this is a very important point.
I would like to see religion stomped into the ground, dragged out and put on a bonfire. (It won't happen, of course).
However, the individuals I know that profess some religious belief are not bad people. In fact some of my closest friends claim to have this strange affinity with some god or other. They know I am an atheist, but it doesn't stop a healthy dialogue.
It's a bit like last Sunday when a bunch of us were at my home (for some reason, my place attracts the kids, their friends, and several adults) watching the SuperBowl. It was about a 50/50 split between Giants/Patriots.
I bought the beer, and my team lost. We still had a good time.
I guess what I am saying is that is fine to condemn the practice of religion, but taking it out on the people who for some warped reason believe in that nonsense is really not a good thing to do.
