Blacks are under Attack!

Read my original post (#175) again, this time with comprehension.
How about answering the question about which civilization, if any, can be called great,

The problem is not that people cannot comprehend what you post, but that we find it absurd that you might beleive what your posts lead us to think you believe.

Cynicism. How nice.

I don't consider it cynical to want voting to be done by literate citizens, preferably with IQ's above 80.

I could be wrong, but I think the reason why children, for example, are not allowed to vote is because they lack the education and maturity to be effective voters. And I agree. I think there really is something to the idea of having competent voters, radical as it may seem on the surface.

How about you stop calling me a racist.

BTW, how many times do I need to repeat myself? Read post #175.

It's cynicism. If we could get most people to vote how many of them would have IQ's below 80?

I need evidence that stupid voters are counterproductive?
You beg the question to assume that encouraging people to vote results in incompetent people voting. You cynically assume they are. And of course, like most people who play these voter ID games you would do anything to red herring the argument. Getting caught making silly and absurd claims about voter ID fraud without any evidence that there is a need for such laws you seek to attack people you know nothing about. I'd ask you for evidence that encouraging people to vote results in more incompetent people voting, but you and I know that is utter BS to change the subject.

Wouldn't "most people" include 5-year-olds? You really think it's cynicism to not think that's such a good idea?

BTW, you made the positive assertion that more voters is better, irrespective of the quality of said prospective voters. Don't you think you need to support that assertion?

You have now managed to wander far afield from my original doubtful query:

I see. The key to building a great civilization is to encourage voting by people who have no ID and have trouble getting any.

I don't need to prove that I doubt the efficacy of allowing voting by people who have no ID and have trouble getting any. All I need to do is tell you, in plain english, that I doubt the efficacy of allowing voting by people who have no ID and have trouble getting any. You have to take my word for that. Trust me, that's really what I think.

So what's the deal here? Have I committed some faux pas? Overstepped the boundaries of free speech? Engaged in political incorrectness?

Hey. Guess what. I also think driving should only be done by licensed drivers. Does that torque your jaws too?

And I really don't think there have been any "great" civilizations on earth either, Leftysergeant. And I really do think the longest-lived one (China) gives the lie to your assertion that ethnically diverse "civilizations" last longer.

Duzzat torque your jaws?

You get a FAIL for world history.

Why would you assume I'm talking about anything than those who are of voter age.

Why would you doubt it? What is the basis to assume that encouraging people to vote will result in more incompetent people voting? We live in a Democracy. It can only work if people vote. Not sure what the problem here is.

Perhaps the argument is that competent (and I suspect that means those who vote Republican) voters don't need encouraging.

You are entitled to an opinion. There is zero evidence that voter ID laws do what they are claimed to do. Using such laws to disenfranchise voters is unconstitutional. So long as we all understand that our opinion has no bearing on voter ID laws then I'm fine with it.

Carry on.

Why would you assume I'm talking about anything than those who are of voter age.

I don't. I merely reduced your entire argument to an absurdity, by pointing out that it is merely sane, rational, and traditional to have standards as to who is allowecd to vote. Every half-civilized country on earth has such standards.

Why would you doubt it? What is the basis to assume that encouraging people to vote will result in more incompetent people voting? We live in a Democracy. It can only work if people vote. Not sure what the problem here is.

Slippery as a catfish, aren't you. Don't see what the problem is, do you?

But no, you're not getting away with that dishonest crap. I said nothing about discouraging rightful voters from voting.

Presumably you have no objection to Ivan from Siberia hopping a flight to Illinois to vote for Romney. Might as well let old Bashar Assad come and vote too. And let them all bring friends. Come one, come all. I have no doubt that people who are unable to obtain a valid ID will prove to be wonderfully reliable and competent voters.

Hell, why not let chimpanzees vote too? They're pretty smart. With some coaching, they can be taught to mark a ballot. So what if they were born in a jungle and lack valid birth certificates. For democracy to work, we need maximum numbers of voters.

That's the kind of crap I would expect from Rashers Lardblob or Michael the Savage Wiener. Maybe you need to turn off the AM radio for a while. You're begining to parrot the maunderings of the racist hosts.

Get it straight. There were a lot of elderly people, especially black people, born in this country outside of hospitals who got no birth certificates, but who have led productive and useful lives without any police contact or military service, who have voted faithfully in every election for decades who are now being told, "You need more than that card now. Go get your birth certificate and go get a driver's license."

Then we have turds like Walker making it hard for anybody to get ID by closing offices that issue them. Classy, huh?

Do pay attention to the real world.
