Prostitution is more moral than Bitcoin IMO, and not just because it wastes fewer resources.

Bitcoin is inherently immoral because it's used to make 'money' out of nothing. The guy who designed it may say that was an accident, but if so it was a mighty convenient one. Whatever the original intent, it's now being used as a vehicle for speculation of the worst kind. Anyone who complains about billionaires getting more than their fair share should be doubly upset about Bitcoin.

But that's not the worst of it. Bitcoin transactions are anonymous. This makes it attractive for facilitating illegal and immoral activities. In the early days that was pretty much its only practical usage, and what put it 'on the map'. Bitcoin was born from the immorality of libertarianism, nurtured with the immorality of organized crime, and metastasized into a distributed ponzi scheme that is still reeling in suckers today. Bitcoin is so steeped in immorality that it virtually personifies it.

So much for your previous claim that you are not morally opposed to gambling. Or is this just special pleading?
If you are so morally opposed to preventing the government/banks from tracking your income/expenditure then you should also be morally opposed to the use of cash.

What have we turned into where we are using valuable energy in order to mine a cryptocurrency when instead that energy could be used to keep poorer people warm or move value added products around the country.

This is just a symptom of a much bigger problem where making money just for the sake of making money is the most important thing in the world (at least, for those who have the capacity to do it).

Melania has launched her own Meme Coin and Donald's has just dropped again.

It's all a giant scam. Donald's Meme Coin was already 80% allocated before it was launched. It's a classic pump and dump rugpull.
 
this stuff is decades old tech. where are all the good crypto projects? what's anyone done with it that isn't some giant rip off? that would be faster than having me name a million scams

I mean, I generally don't mind crypto. Bitcoin withstood test of time quite well. NFTs collapsed by itself and nothing was really lost.
But this is something new. Trump coin had $39B trading volume in last 24 hours, and I suspect it's on the one exchange only (Binance).
Even Malenia coin which was started yesterday already has about $9B 24h volume.
Are really people that stupid or is China (or who knows who) pumping Trump so hard ?
 
imo it’s definitely a back door for bribery. but also plenty of crypto enthusiasts trying to rug pull each other getting burned
