Merged Bigfoot follies

I'm not a conspiracy/government cover-up type of person, but let's discuss the following hypothetical scenario.

Let's go on the premise that Sasquatch is actually a living, breathing entity in the woods of north America. Would the government have a reason to try and keep that news from getting out? Be it national security reasons or economic reasons or something else? Is it in our collective "best interest" that this topic needs to remain on the fringe of society relegated to internet forums.

I can already envision many posting "but it doesn't exist, so it's a moot point", I get it. But, for the sake of entertainment, let's go with it as a hypothetical.

Discuss.

If footie were a real thing, it would've have been documented long before a mythical MiB came on the scene. First Nation people would've shown the Europeans were to find 'em, where to get 'em, and what to do with 'em.

That's pretty silly. Mountain lions, alligators, bears and wolves actually exist, and the government doesn't cover them up.

This is nonsense. If the government had any interest in suppressing bigfoot knowledge, then why are there numerous reality tv shows featuring people equipped to record the creature? Granted the methods used by these clowns leave little for the hopeful footer, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes, right? Why would the government take such an awful chance of discovery occurring right on national tv?

Absurd.

The gubnmint uses them to discredit bigfoot!

Know of any government cover-up plots anywhere in the world to hide the existence of gorillas, elephants, tigers, lions, rhinos, hippos, jaguars, camels, crocodiles, alligators, whatever?

Scratch that. Known of any government cover-up that actually worked?

Bingo. The "why" has no merit but the "how" is completely untenable.

Folks like scientists, wildlife photographers, and "squatch-trepreneurs" would be very interested in proving the reality of bigfoot to the world, so you'd need some kind of infrastructure to keep such folks off the trail. You can't let someone trying to find it actually find it.

The even bigger problem would be accidental discovery. If Trucker Bob kills one on I-80 tonight, then the photo he'll post on Instagram will go viral in minutes. The web of fantasy that would be required to keep that from happening is truly mind-boggling, as in only those with boggled minds would think of such a thing. What's more, the conspiracy infrastructure to keep bigfoot under wraps would need to extend internationally to our close allies in Canada, Australia, Russia, China, Nepal, Sumatra, etc.

Why not start out the discussion yourself? You don't even have to pretend that Bigfoot exists because youknow that it does.

Go ahead and give your answers to your questions. As you say, do it for the purpose of entertainment.

"There's a government conspiracy to cover them up!"

Yes. That is just the thing that Bigfootery needed.

The (arguably) most powerful person in the world couldn't cover up an oval office BJ. How in the world could one possibly co-ordinate multiple disparate agencies involving two separate nations in covering up the existence of a nine-foot monkey?

Like I've seriously said just go ahead and declare Bigfootery a religious cult at this point. We're at "The Bigfoot moves in mysterious ways" level of argument here.

Well, if it worked, you wouldn't know of it, by definition.
The largest one ended with a bang. Three actually.

Bigfoot gubmnmint cover up ops would be much more massive than the hoaxers network footers claim should exist to explain the sightings if skeptics are right and there is no bigfoot. Since the conspiracy is too complex to be coordinated and stay undetected, its impossible. Bigfoots hoaxes must be rare.

But not the cover- up... Yeah.

Got a bridge to sell. OK, what about some books I wrote about bigfoot? Got also footprint casts and bigfoot research expeditions.

Answers: No, No and No. They didn't hide the spotted owl in the PNW or the snail darter in Tennessee. This is just another chapter out of the BLAARGers CODE BOOK (more like guidelines, actually) Borrowed from the UFOers.

There are 2 explanations for Bigfoot that answer all the logical arguments of skeptics AND all the things Bigfoot Knowers claim...

1: Bigfoot is paranormal

2: Bigfoot is just a bunch of made-up stories

And don't get me started on the ******* California Gnatcatcher.

Even better, Bigfoot is paranormal because it's just a bunch of made-up stories. The late Erik Beckjord, an infamous Bigfoot "researcher", believer and general internet pest preached for years that Bigfoot was "para" (à la his brief and cryptic writing style). He was thrown out of every Bigfoot club he ever joined but was apparently way ahead of his time (amongst ProBigfooters). Another former "early internet" Bigfooter, Henry Franzoni came to basically the same conclusion. Not coincidentally, calling it 'paranormal' allows them to realize there is no Bigfoot while never having to wholly admit it publicly.

Paranormal Bigfoot lives in the minds of people, occasionally Manifesting its self in the physical world in the form of a weird noise or shadow.

I spent some time lately out in the country in Mexico. While hiking about on a dry creek bed I was looking around to see if I could find any unusual branch or limb placements, given that I was told by other members that so-called Bigfoot "signs" can be found anywhere in wooded areas.

Well I wasn't exactly in a heavily wooded area, and certainly not in "Bigfoot country," yet I found one spot that if I were so inclined and let my imagination go Bigfoot, then the spot might seem mysterious.

Below are pictures of the surrounding area, my wife's uncle on a burro, me under an unknown (to me) tree with a lot of Tarzan vines, and wood falls near the dry creek.

Giant fish in number six. I'm going with coelacanth. Or maybe steath bomber.

Dunno.
