NL,
Thanks for the pictures, but I’m really asking for a picture of the actual 24” oak that BB is talking about. That simple request was made by several members at the BFF, but no pic was ever posted. I’m reasonably sure there is no broken tree. It is one thing to say a BF broke a tree the size of the ones you posted. If bigfoot was a real animal, you might believe that it could break a 10-12” evergreen off 8-10’ from the ground. Crawl up, bend it over – crack. But when someone says a 24” dia healthy oak tree broken off 2’ from ground, it goes way beyond belief. That is the Catch-22 of bigfoot stories. Kind of like horror movies, each one that comes out needs to “one-up” the last or people won’t come see them. With bigfoot, the same-old story of finding a footprint, or seeing a quick glimpse isn’t good enough anymore. Stories have evolved…from what once was a shy ape-man, we progressed =>howling=>wood-knocking=>rock-throwing=>stick-structure making=>pig-tossing=>camera-avoiding=>infrasound-blasting=>mind-raping=>native-flute-loving=>24” Oak-breaking=>30mph running=>gifting, sometimes sweet, sometimes sour wood ape. You have to “one-up” the norm or you won’t get noticed. So, before getting involved in coming up with explanations of how the tree was broken and what kind of animal BB saw run away, prove to me there actually is a broken 24” healthy oak tree. A simple pic from any of the NAWAC could do this, but it will never happen. No broken tree, no animal running away – just a story. Even some of the faithful BFF’ers finally realized what was going on because he went too far.
The same applies to your Good-n-Plenty story. IIRC, your friend spilled a few GnP’s at some point during the day while you were out looking for BF. Then, around 1 or 2 in the morning, a GnP was tossed out of the swamp, over the campfire and into the guy who spilled the GnP’s chair. What you are asking us to believe is that Bigfoot either saw your friend spill the candy (or else came across the candy, but knew who’s it was) then carried it around for hours, sneaking through the swamp up to your campfire, close enough to make the perfect throw on the first try, but far enough away not to get caught and then sneaked silently back into the swamp. Even if bigfoot was a real animal, your story makes no sense.
