Merged Bigfoot follies

I e-mailed John Marsh and asked about his level of expertise in the field of DNA research. He replied with a non-answer to my question.

He does seem to have a depth of knowledge on the subject of DNA far greater than my own, though.

Here is his reply pasted:

If you have been following my thread on the Ketchum DNA, I have just discovered that some of my conclusions were wrong, because with respect to mtDNA haplogroup T2b, the Bigfoots and an alleged Cro Magnon were sequenced using the rCRS standard, and other T2bs I was comparing them to were using a more recent RSRS standard reference sequence. Because the Ketchum papers were delayed being released by peer review issues, it did not realize the sequencing was done under the currency of the old standard, and not the standard used by the test company used at the date of publication.

So I have been wrong about some aspects of T2b, and I need to convert sequences to the relevant standards, and review the matter.

It is primarily the T2b Bigfoots I have been wrong about. But I will have to go back and review my conclusions after adjusting the results to the same reference sequences.

Seems to be well into Wonderland. He's writing as if bigfoot is real.

Dr. Sykes, Rhettman, and Lori debriefing after what we all just experienced...Dr. Sykes will write about it and reveal what happened when he writes his book later this year about this whole project. It will be worth the wait.

I am sure they won't, however it's good for bigfootery as the wait is its fuel. I bet that there will be many other bigfoot DNA studies after Sykes and Ketchum.

My 2 cents:
A real bigfoot is Nature-level stuff. Its not for books. So, no real bigfoot an the book. Just another footer fizzle.
 
Well, if I had something as groundbreaking as bigfoot under my sleeves, I probably would discuss it to some extent, or hint at it at Facebook. Its too big to completely hide. I would never, however, use it or anything similar to communicate the discovery. Lots of e-mail exchanges, but private, between the research team and reviewers, formal and informal.

Now, it would be groundbreaking. Word about it would come out before the preliminary version of the paper becomes online. Not footer gossip. An event as a congress, if an appropriate one is available before the early version becomes available online or, given the importance of the stuff, National Geographic Channel. Nope, not History Channel, probably not Discovery too. Even NGC is going down the drain, but... Aniway, it would become "official" some four to six (maybe eight) months after submission. And this is faster than publishing a book. Not to mention its the right place.

Any and all hopes for a book communicating the discovery of bigfoot are foolish. Oh, sure and its not just due to issues related to publication deadlines and adequacy...

so over in the Bigfoot evidence site, on march 6th, someone posting anonomously said that "today (march 6th) Robin Forest People admitted to being "Casey Mullins"

I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. You might try asking at OTL,S or Jim McClanahan at the Historum blog.
