If he thinks the data is sound, then I'll listen to him. I don't think that will be the case, though.

I agree that's why I have my suspicions or doubts already growing with this guy, but I don't want to get on his case until he says something stupid, going to one of these BF circuses ain't all that bad, it's always good to know who and what you are dealing with, it's how you come out of it that matters.

If Sykes has not yet encountered a Bigfoot in the wild for himself then that lack of personal experience might affect what he has to say.

I agree as long as his stuff is on the up and up and is totally professional, done the right way and accepted by mainstream science, if all that is done I'll accept it even if he found Bigfoot riding the lochness monster ~

I won't. I'll reject him with extreme prejudice.

If Sykes says that Bigfoot exists I will reject him. I swear I will call him an idiot until a Bigfoot body is produced.

That's what I was thinking. And to do it prematurely (it seems) as well. The Western Bigfoot Society (whoever that is) surely isn't a 'society' of Bigfoot skeptics. Now I probably couldn't care less who this Dr. Sykes 'fella' is either, but from what I've been reading here he is a non-hallucinating legitimate 'scientist' of some repute. That's good enough for me. It definitely needs to come from somebody like him. Then again, it's all good news no matter which way he goes. He'll either re-confirm there is still no such thing as Bigfoot, or he'll re-confirm the universe really is as perfect and ****** up as we think it is. ;)

If I recall correctly, you were exactly this effusive about Melba Ketchum's (DVM) "paper." Now, if Sykes does nothing to validate footer fantasy, will you drop him like a hot blueberry bagel?

It's possible the Western Bigfoot Society want to squash Ketchum and they know Sykes will do that with his analysis. It's also possible that they know it's just a matter of time before someone takes Ketchum down so they may see an opportunity to be the heroes.

To make my above posts more clear.
I'll be more open towards BF if real main stream science accepts DNA, But !! A body is the bottom line no matter what, the DNA thing IMHO is a path toward BF but it don't mean crap until the beast is on the slab ~

You must understand that it is OK to disagree with "science" or a scientist. I already disagree with one scientist named Meldrum. I could happily add a Sykes to that poop list.

It seems to me that with all these folks claiming habituating bigfoots, a type specimen should be a slam dunk. Not just the nutca . . . enthusiasts talking about footie in their back 20 but "groups" like the TBRC and the Erickson whatever thingee . . . Jesus H. Christ, they're right there (allegedly), go get 'em! Are you lying or just inept?

I am not talking just about Sykes, I am talking big time science, no footers no BS, real main stream science, if they accept it then I will have to open up also, I know the thing don't exist I am just saying I trust what we have in place with professional scientists and the process needed to verify a species.

Why do you feel that way? He was the first geneticist to extract DNA from ancient bone and worked on several high profile studies. I believe he knows what he is doing.

If she has anything at all worth looking at, I believe he will give it a fair assessment. The most he can say is she might have something that is worth further study or she is mistaken.

Just because he was the first to extract DNA from an ancient bone doesn't mean he can't also be a complete nutcase.
 
You can read about his discoveries online. His most major discovery that I can recall was that all Europeans can be traced back to 7 different women through mtDNA.

Easy there big guy, no need to beat up on fellow forum members, we all know the monkey ain't out there, it's just a drama game we are playing, next up will be watching Sykes being a stand up guy or a patsy for the BF cult cause, only time will tell, we have the past for our experience and it don't look all that good for him getting involved with the footer crowd, as GT pointed out anyone can be a nut job~

Maybe, but don't you think that would have been apparent by now if that were the case? I have heard absolutely nothing in that respect regarding Dr. Syke's reputation.

Why are you assuming that he is going to pronounce bigfoot exists? I seriously doubt bigfoot exists but it won't make a difference to me one way or the other if I'm ever proven to be wrong. If he finds anything interesting, that is all he will be able to say, he's not going to start flying the bigfoot freak flag just yet, if at all.
