Bigfoot DNA

...Now they can rail at labs and at DNA itself, as well as blaming Science, Gubmint, the timber industry and the MIB for concealing the proof of Bigfoot's existence....
At what point do we stop caring what 'they' think or say? Excepting The Mel Drum™ and a couple others, I'm pretty much past even caring there is a 'they'. And those few only because 'they' have a lot of public exposure but serious character/credibility issues, and I love a train wreck.

It's not that Bigfooters don't see the logical reality of it, it's that 'they' can't. After literally 40+ years of Popular Bigfooting with absolutely nothing new to show for it, 'they' still believe. How can you reason with that kind of thinking?

I get this feeling that their cameraman (? Pfohl) was an Ivan Marx type who fleeced them with staged footage.

I thought I read that Dennis Pfohl was not the cameraman for the Erickson Bigfoot scene(s). Was it not written that the footage(s) was taken by the previous landowner who sold the real estate and video footage to Erickson? Am I wrong?

Anyway, it seems pretty obvious to me that Bigfootery will suffer nothing of consequence if the Ketchum project fails or collapses. It won't matter to the vast majority of them. Believers who want to think that Bigfoot is a non-human ape will continue, those who think it is a kind of human will continue. Eyewitnesses won't recant or modify the description of what they saw.

Bigfootery is probably a permanent cult that will remain largely unaffected by anything that happens. In its most fundamental sense, Bigfootery is the same now as it was in 1958 or 1968. Modern technology has changed certain aspects but belief in Bigfoot is still the same.

People have seen Bigfoot. I have seen Bigfoot. Doubters are wrong. Bigfoot is out there. Bigfoot exists.

In the big picture, the Ketchum Project and the PGF (etc.) are just singular pieces of evidence. If they are ever conclusively shown to be hoaxes or false it will not significantly erode the rock foundation of Bigfoot belief. Losing believers does not erase Bigfootery. If there were only 50 Bigfoot believers remaining on the whole planet you would still have Bigfoot belief and Bigfootery.

The "Bigfoot is human" fad is about to sweep the Sascult.
Ketchum is (again) tenatively scheduled (again with Paulides) to speak next May (assuming she isn't called away to Europe to consult on the Higgs boson). The conference is about "Primal People" and "homo sapiens hirsutii" so I think this is more handwriting on the wall: the only primate DNA that Ketchum has, is modern human. Duh. That's because there is only one primate inhabiting North America and that is modern human.

Sometimes human leaves his DNA in his toilet, his drinking glass, or shares it with a partner, sometimes he leaves it in the woods or on a barb wire fence. Sometimes he sends it in to a Texas DNA lab , who for a few hundred bucks will throw the sample in the trash and issue you a Squatchtificate...they don't really have to analyze the DNA, since the act of sending in the sample shows that you are a modern human and therefore are a sasquatch. The Squatchtificate also empowers you to perform marriages between Sasquatches (ie modern humans).

As for the DNA specimens that indicated misidentification of bears... Well, those will not be reported, nor will the specimens that indicate that the activities of all sort of other animals are responsible for activities attributed to "bigfoot" by the sasploiters and their followers. Think Skookum Cast.

So what's going to happen to all the gorilla theory's and comparisons that have been made by the BF expert's, are they going to back track on there words now.

This is turning out to be a bigger joke than i have ever imagined, i think all this DNA stuff is just going to turn against the footers and cause even more divide.

looks like we have a new species of sasquatch to add too the list, let's pick a nice territory to put it in.

I bet four quatloos Lore Coleman already has such "cryptic humans" listed within his bestiary...

It is YOU, evil skeptics, who in your lust for a body stand like doubting Thomas and demand to thrust your fickle fingers into the BODY. It is YOU, evil skeptics, who stand like Pontius Pilate and excoriate Patty on your pillar of doubt. It is YOU, evil skeptics, who have driven Bigfooters into madness by demanding the transubstantiation of anecdote into flesh.

Do you see what you have done, evil skeptics? It is YOU who have caused the Divine to become human flesh, as human flesh can be touched and sequenced for mitochondrial DNA. As you stand before the Divine, you become as Pilate and proclaim ECCE HOMO...

There is much truth in your short story, tube. The first mission of a cult is to preserve the cult. And since the dogma is all faith-based, the content doesn't matter...cult members will provide their own rationalization. The presence of enemies of the cult only reinforces the dependence on the leaders.

I sincerely and genuinely believe there are parallels between religious belief and belief in Bigfoot. I hesitate to call Bigfootery a "cult" simply because that word has a pejorative association, and my goal is not name-calling. I believe Bigfootery is a quasi-religion because there are parallels psychologically between the two enterprises.

Some time back I was astounded at claims by MK Davis that the Patterson film subject was "human." Since then the meme that Bigfoot is "human" has gotten traction.

I am proposing that the idea that "Bigfoot is human" performs much of the same psychological function as most religions that propose a human incarnation of the Divine.

More prosaically, any biological specimens collected in the field by amateurs run the risk of human contamination, much like we see our Russian friends doing:

Sorry to come so late to this discussion, but let's see if I'm understanding this correctly... Bigfoot is just a bunch of hairy homeless dudes?

You guys have it all wrong. Ketchum is right. Bigfoot is human, and we are bigfoot. They are just putting a slightly different twist to the story.

nope a big chunk of it has become a cult, the cult of Muldurism..... Not to single out but there's your poster child example

There is a large element of truth in that.
Sources of the Bigfoot legend:
1.Native American traditions describing enemies bigger and hairier than they were
2. Old Anglo newspaper stories describing hermits, crazy men, and the like, who don't usually shave.
3. Mistaken identity, exaggerated stories about humans
4. Hoaxers

But the bleevers have always denied these influences and contended Bigfoot was a monster with all sorts of non human features. Now, the only primate DNA they can find is modern human; so suddenly they have to somehow reverse field. They don't mind the contradiction.

I think the comparison is very real in that they both utilize Russell's tea pot argument excessively.

So, will Patty's gait become human then?

They spent an awful lot of capital to show that Patty's gait was inhuman.

They spent an awful lot of capital to show that Patty's foot structure is very different from a modern human's foot.

Heck, they have been saying since 1967, "Patty can't be human."

Her gait, the way she turns her head, her overall proportions, her IMB, her weight, etc.

All proof that she was not human.

Or, will Patty become a more primitive sasquatch?

Remember the discussions we previously had with footers about the claimed DNA evidence? They believe an "inconclusive" result means "unknown species" instead FUBAR sample. This speaks a lot about the possible future developments of the "new" bigfootery trend. The average Joe/Jane footer will think you can develop "classic" bigfoot morpholgy by making small changes in DNA, so small they will not be perceived by conventional tests. They will point to taller-than-the-average humans, hairier-than-the-average humans to back their "theory".

They will say this is why bigfoot lives at your backyard unoticed, this explains why they can speak, the habituation, abduction and rape tall tales.

And yes, some will lean towards the many species or genus of cryptic primates explanation. How many there are in Coleman's bestiary? Nine? Twelve?

Even those with a paranormal inclination will find a way to add this to the lore. "See? This explains the telepathy! And shape-shifting too!"

Remember- many a footer already believes in such gigantic piles of crap (fundamentalists Christians, Mormons, UFOs, etc) that this bigfoot-r-humans stuff pales in comparison.

In the ARGOSY article, the one scientist says that Patty's walk was human, and even went so far as to say it's walk was that of a human male.

I don't know where this non-human gait idea came from.

Bob or Roger even say in one of the interviews that it ran "just like you or me"

Oh yes, you are quite correct, originally Patty's gait was very much human. It was always described that way. It was part of the fascination with the creature.

It was only much later that it became inhuman.

I have remarked on this a lot myself.

My "since 1967" above should probably be "since 1987", but I can't edit it now.

This comment on the BFF yesterday from a respected member there surprised me:

"Well I'd say that this new species walks just as human as we do as indicated in Patty."

I must have missed a memo or something - is it true that bigfooters have dropped the whole Patty's-unique-gait thing?

They certainly have been shown to adopt whatever theory benefits their belief that bigfoot is real, and this is no exception.

If the 2011 theory is that Bigfoot is actually a human then Patty must be a human so Patty now obviously walks like a human.

Everyone that posts on both sites should go over there and give them a rousing, "I told you so!"

I got too the point that i had too stop posting on that forum, i just lost all respect for many there, those that i once thought had some common sense have gone soft, there in a world of there own, reminds me very much of a cult with the heavy moderation, editing posts, deleting posts, closing topic's, anything to keep the truth under there rock.
