Bigfoot DNA

Since it seems many people here are familiar with Paulides I was wondering if anyone can provide more detail about a claim he made on coast to coast. He mentioned almost in passing that among the reasons why he knows bigfoots rae human is that several native Amberican tribes describing trading with the bigfoots on several occassions. This struck me as an amazing claim but nothing more was said about it. Does anyone know what sort of details he might have provided elsewhere about this claim? Like what were they trading? How do they communicate? How do they find each other of arrange meetings? etc...

^I don't have his books, but see my post 3037. Paulides seems to read these legends pretty much like I do. They are somewhat xenophobic and/or heroic descriptions of modern human beings of other tribes/races. Not very different from the way that some Americans have in the past and still do refer to Japanese, Chinese, Jews, African Americans, Italians, Irish, Arabs, Native Americans, tall people, fat people, short people, hairy people, bald people, gays, lesbians, transgender people etc etc as not being quite human.

If you read these legends as they were handed down until 1967, in fact, you find very little that specifically and/or consistently suggests the image of the "bigfoot" of modern folklore. Instead, they are generally "creatures" who wear clothes, talk, use fire, weapons, etc.

For a close reading of "The Hoopa Project" see Bigfoots Blog.

Paulides summarizes his reasons why he thinks the "bigfoot" of modern folklore is human at his NABS site.

I've read posts 1-600 and about 3000 to this. I'm trying to catch up but this is immense. I have some questions trying to connect all the characters. I'm gathering info for a piece to be published. The deadline looms...

Are Melba and Paulides close associates? How close? If his book copyrighted 2009 and her copyright notice for her book/movie Sasquatch: A Tribe Revealed dated 9/2010 seem to correspond to this same idea. How strongly does that suggest the results of this study were handily fit into that preconceived idea?

Paulides may be the overlooked character in this story. He brought Ketchum into his organization's Bigfoot DNA study. Why? Because she stood out from the rest of the scientists he looked at. If you are an enthusiast, you might think he saw in Ketchum an open-minded, tenacious researcher. If you're more skeptical, you might think he saw in her someone willing to "go along" with the premise: Bigfoot are humans.

Here is the beginning of their professional relationship:

Here is an interview with P. :http://www.examiner.com/article/int...tive-bigfoot-perspectives-and-dna-revelations

Paulides (claims he) has a prestigious 20 year background in law enforcement as a detective and investigator that enables him to gather facts and interview witnesses to get to the facts of the case. On his NABS Blog #91 he states in part, "he chose to retire after twenty years, and no one in his group lies".

The reality and truth of the matter is far stranger than anyone could imagine.

David Paul Paulides was an Officer with the San Jose Police Department until 1996. He was charged and indicted for a misdemeanor crime that involved falsely obtaining autographs while fraudulently misrepresenting his position within the police department. His tenure fell short of the requisite 20 years required to retire and he was forced to leave with only 16.5 years. His last duty assignment was in the Court Liaison Office. Most likely he left voluntarily in lieu of being prosecuted and given an option to quit. On an ancillary note with this background I am curious as to what Senior Executive Position he has or had held in the Technology Sector. From what I can discern the North American Bigfoot Search is Mr. Paulides. Furthermore, Paulides has never been on a Search and Rescue team, or participated in any organized SAR. This book is a discredit and a slap in the face to those men and women that are.

Coleman was the first - I think - to put the news out about this charlatan but it seems to have been ignored by pretty well everybody.

Crooked cops are lower than low and I hate them.
Anybody as low as Paulides has demonstrated himself to be should be branded, tarred and feathered, and horsewhipped out of town.

And yet - the bleevers once again show that they are willing to embrace con artists, abject failures, and outright frauds as long as they tell them what they want to hear. :boggled:

^Thanks.
A few notable points:
Disotell sees the 15,000 year date as a huge red flag. And he doesn't think there is a paper that has been submitted to a peer-reviewed journal.
People in the US are not in the databases unless they are felons. [I think there are others, actually....those selected for scientific interest]. Small differences in human DNA are not gonna make a bigfoot.

Random quote from the Ketchum thread at the BFF:
May 9, 2011:
Silver Fox:
I don't know the name. I only know that Ketchum said the paper is done, and right now it's out for peer review. She didn't mention the name of the paper. Most associated had to sign NDA's so the whole thing has been pretty hush hush.

I have viewed this as a scam all along and have doubted a "paper" existed except for some possible BS written and presented to the gullible fool who footed the bill.

Rock's revelations about Paulides simply reinforces this viewpoint. This was a scam from the beginning with TheMelba a willing participant.

Parn~ I remember you telling me once about you could use an undiscovered Pygmy Tribe DNA and it would show up very different.

Is this kinda the same thing ?

About those 15.000 years Disotell says:
"If it's a primate that is so similar to us, it's only separated from us by 15.000 years ago, that's us! I mean depending on where Ben, Blake and Karen are from and I'm from, the four of us could have more than 15.000 years of separation, I mean no problem...I might be 20 or 25.000 years separate from one of you"

I'm not sure to understand what he means by that. Does he mean that the study of the differences in DNA (nuDNA?) between two individuals can show from what period of time was their latest common ancestor (20 or 25.000 years ago in his example)and that, if that period of time is about 15.000 years ago, it's peanuts compared with the age of the Homo sapiens species ?... or not?...

It would appear that the end game has started for the Ketchum paper. It is being reported that 'the paper' has been rejected in America and will be published in Russia according to Igor Burtzev. Maybe a pool could be started to guess which bigfoot specific website will end up publishing it first and selling the first book/cd.

I don't recall that. I have posted the idea that NA legends about tall hairy people may reflect the fact that many tribal peoples are themselves rather short and non-hairy.

I have also posted scenarios regarding isolated NA tribes not being in databases. Perhaps that is what you are referring to. By isolated I did not mean undiscovered. I meant that their DNA was isolated, in terms of evolving separately from much of the rest of the population of North America.

One of the points that I have made and that Disotell also makes is that we are all "snowflakes"...i.e. every human has unique nuDNA. And most humans are not in nuDNA databases. Even those that have DNA in the databases, have only a short segment (in the overwhelming majority of cases). So the finding of unique nuDNA sequences (ie sequences not in a database) in a complete sequencing of a random human sample are very high, and I would estimate close to 100%. And in the case of a genetically isolated tribe member that probability would likely be even higher.

But will it be actual HD video or will it be "footer hi def"... meaning you take a blurry film, pump up the contrast and color saturation, zoom in until it looks like a QR code, then start circling things.

can you provide a link/ reference for that nugget? Please?

so in regards to castros questions about Disotell (looks like he shaved off his mohawk!) about the 15000 year seperation.

I believe he is referencing the mitocondrial DNA, and the 7 daughters of eve. using his european situation, Sykes clearly showed that virtually all modern humans with european heritage could be traced back to one of 7 maternal lineages. You can determine the "homeland" of those lineages, and the emmigration each group they did by some pretty simple modeling and deductive reasoning. The genetics of those 7 lineages shows they seperated from each other between 45,000 and 10,000 years ago, depending on what lineages we were comparing, so if you are from the Ursula clan your lineage seperated 45,000 years ago from the rest of them, so you are 45,000 years removed from a common ancestor from someone who is from Xenias clan for instance.

Thats the issue with the supposed 15000 year removal from humans - humans are removed from each others common ancestors by a heck of alot more time than that!

In some circles Burtsev is being referred to as a scientist. He isn't. And it is unclear whether his education is deserving of "Dr."

It is hard to understand why Ketchum would have sent him the paper. Maybe she thought that he was a scientist and that the International whatzis of Hominology was an actual ....something....and she thought he could use some "connections" to get it published in Russia.

If that speculation is correct, ie if Ketchum and/or Burtsev were to actually submit ThePaper to some Russian journal while it was still under review at, say, an American journal, well, let's just say if that were discovered (not unlikely) there would be an instant *************...you just don't do that.

If this is correct, it seems "The Paper" was not good even for Meldrum's bigfoot journal...

If you go to Bigfoot Evindence (sorry), the first three posts all deal with rejection of the Ketchum paper.

cal,
links? most of this is apparently originally on Facebook pages that we as non-card-carrying-forestpeople-lovers, just aren't allowed to see.

it appears that Burtsev, Ketchum, and Ketchum's new publicist (who uses the name Robin Lynne ForestPeople on Facebook!) are engaged in some sort of activity which blends elements from "Telephone," "Circular firing squad", "Finding Bigfoot", Dodgeball, and "English as a ??fth language." Facebooker Steven Streufert says they can't even "keep their lies on the same page."

There are claims and counterclaims and denials and "clarifications" of statements by others, regarding whether or not ThePaper has been rejected by journals in the US and whether or not it has been submitted to some Russian journal.

The Ketchum thread at the BFF would be the best way to get all the alleged quotes, as they continue to be posted. You can take a shower afterwards.

I will say this: Burtsev compares the present situation regarding Ketchum, to the American Civil War. In my mind, that demonstrates that without a doubt he is a complete idiot. What's next? "Sykes is like Hitler"?

Go read his website and you might get an idea of where the preconceived ideas came from and how he and Melba are associated. I think that would give you a consolidated version straight from the source as opposed to wading through the thread looking for second hand qoutes or mentions of him.
